No, I don't have a camera on a device- this is the house of old technology!!

    Thanks for explaining anyway.

Back to the drawing board........2 accounts wanting to go somewhere preferably without DDs!! Just done the Santander......

i would try applying online and see how far you get as there may be another way of submitting ID, for example in a branch that they can send to the account opening department etc.  Many banks have alternative methods for ID as they realise not everyone had access to certain technology so allow the application to start online and then complete when id sent another way. indeed their website Q&A section suggests that id can be posted to them as well as taken in branch for a current account.

As I discovered only doing a online application with a suitable Photo ID will qualify for the £150. In branch or by post will open an account. But switching will not result in the £150 payment alas.

Thanks for that. I suspect I could have used digi docs for verification but it's not offered. Ah well, will have to wait around for another offer! (and time is running out anyway as I shall be away next week.)
The other problem , or maybe it's linked really is that some of these offers now require you to download their app rather than bank online.

I opened a new Ulster account for the switch incentive.

I've been asked to send in certified copies, or visit a branch (in N Ireland?)

I telephoned and eventually got through

They said the account had been opened, but to still send the proofs.

Maybe obviously, you can go to an RBS or Natwest branch for them to certify the documents and forward to Ulster.

The lady also said that as long as the application was made online, the switch incentive would still be applicable.

And yet bizarrely after all that, I received an email from Ulsterbank with a link to HooYu verification system, in which you upload name and address ID and do a "liveness check" (which I think I barely passed)

So it may be worth just waiting if you're initially asked to send in documents

I got RBS, Natwest and Ulster incentives from their last offer. All accounts opened on the same day.
    This may no longer work.

Ulster Bank was previously a separate bank within the NatWest/RBS Group. As part of exiting the ROI market, they've legally restructured Ulster Bank to be a NatWest Bank trading name.
Ulster Bank is the same as RBS, a trading name of NatWest Bank plc.
No,. RBS (i.e The Royal Bank of Scotland plc) is a separate bank from NatWest Bank plc
Ulster Bank NI was previously a stand-alone bank but now it's accounts have been transferred to NatWest Bank plc. AFAIK Ulster Bank NI only issues NI Sterling banknotes now
  • Am I right in thinking that 10x standing orders per month from Jan to Sept qualify as transactions for extra £50?

So far I'm quite pleased with RBS so I'm looking to keep it (have also switched a second un-neeeded account into it as well).  However, i opened the Select account as part of the offer, but am now interested in the Rewards account (especially as barclays are now changing the rewards account).

Does any one know if I decide to upgrade the account before the January incentive payment date, will this affect my eligility for the incentive payment? Trying to work out whether to upgrade it now or wait until after the January payment, as annoyingly i have mis-filed the original terms print out.
