I’ve managed to clean the bathroom etc. It has taken all day, on and off. Out again with DD, she drove and I filled her car with petrol. Dentist for DD ticked off my list, and a trip to w!lk0 and b00ts to tick a couple more bits off her list. Easy dinner cooked, WULTD, DD dropped in small town for a night out with friends. I’m on taxi duty again later.
So much admin piling up. I’m hoping for a stay at home day tomorrow.
I hope Mr Iona feels better soon. Look after yourself too, Iona x8 -
Thanks ASB, I havent rested exactly, but I did take it steady at work and finished in good time. Tired and grumpy now. I will get an early night. Hope things feel a bit clearer about work and you can do what you feel is right for you x
Hope DS1 is OK Pigpen, and I suppose its a good thing they are doing more tests on Mr Ionafan.
Not much flying done except the basics but that's OK, the house is not too bad. I need a decent nights sleep.10 -
I appear to have a cold.. You can tell they are back at school.. germ riddled filthy things children are lol. I shall drug that and head off to bed.. ooh.. can I drug that with the leg drugs?? I'm not sure I have any boring decongestant.. I will sort something.. I promise not to OD through sheer stupidity, I will carefully check what I am devouring. It's not allergies I took AH already.
DS1 is causing mischief at DIL's, he has upset Fabian, I offered to go round and I offered to have fabian for the night but DS went to sleep so he stopped carrying on.. I'm going cuppa and bed I think before I feel too ill to sleep..
Pack ups are done.
I hope the Fly-Misters and Mummies and Pops are doing well and getting better from any ailments!4 loads of washing dried and folded,DW x2

Thanks everyone.
DH is home again and a lot better than he was yesterday, even. I received a phonecall at 6.00 (when I was out walking Rosie and - of course - at the farthest point from home) from one of the nurses on the ward saying, "Your husband is ready to be collected now." Apparently he got about half an hour's more notice of his discharge than I did. By the time we got home I was already over-tired, but I stayed up to watch 'A House through Time' and 'LLF' because they are two of my favourite series and I needed some me time.
Rosie is delighted to have him back and had a mad hour with her toys: it was lovely to see how quickly she reverted to her usual happy self
I have just put out the last bag of kitchen rubbish and everything is ready for the bin men tomorrow.
G'night all - hope the WAC has no visitors tonight!9 -
Hugs to Roundtuit and any others who need them.
Thanks for lists even if I am habitually off piste.
I got back home last night; thankfully a good journey, a bit under 3hrs. Almost daunting and a bit strange, having had fairly limited and set duties at Mum's unlike my usual chaos so now I've got to pick up 'normal'.
- Wrote a big list of all the things I need to catch up on.
- Started day by swim and coffee with friends which was nice - although gym a pretty poor second to the sea. However the monsoon for most of the day ensured I got just as wet outside the pool as in.
-Went to Mr T.
- Caught up on a load of post needing sending/receiving/checking.
- Finished and submitted my tax return.
- Looked at the 5th SEIS grant criteria and decided that, although on an annual basis my income has been considerably less owing to Covid (which satisfies one of the criteria), I can't honestly say that May - Sept has been affected as it's outside my term time. A bit contradictory as it is the only one of the grants that has needed annual turnover, but mustn't be greedy.
- emailed a range of people about assessment practices this year.
- scanned and emailed forms to holiday insurance
- caught a non-monsoon 10 mins and went round the jungle garden. Picked rhubarb, apples, tomatoes, beans and a cucumber.
- rang Mum and my brother, who has taken over this week's caring. Apparently the meeting with a highly recommended general helper (ex carer but now self-employed and will do most things to help) went very well and she is going to start helping Mum for a couple of hours next week, especially as Mum won't be able to lift/hoover/carry laundry etc for a while. We are all hoping/expecting that, when my brother leaves after next Tues/Wed, Mum won't need either of us to 'live in' as she will almost have returned to normal, gradually regaining her strength.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -
Morning everyone, grey and damp here which isn't helping my motivation but,
Bed made, clothes picked up
Shower, sinks and loo cleaned
HHI done, basket empty
WM on
Meeting a friend I haven't seen for nearly 2 years for lunch so looking forward to that, might then have a walk around town when she goes back to work.
Have a good day.9 -
Just had my asthma review in bed! Luckily I had got up and made a coffee and brought it back to bed.
Its my first 'weekend' and the house is a tip. See you later.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear8 -
It was a beautiful blue sky autumn day start, after a misty murky night. Clouding over now, but I have a load of washing in, some of which will go outside to take its chances.
QHI done, airing cupboard sorted, half heartedly dusting the LR as per the lists. Laptop fired up to (maybe) sort some admin out later.9
