Bed remade
Table in bedroom cleared
Bedroom hoovered
Lunch made and eaten
WM on
Pulled out all the junk at the bottom of the wardrobe, result is 2 bin bags of rubbish, 2 big sacs or clothes to go. So I diverted to the tip on my way to pick up work papers and dropped off a box of kitchen stuff for CS and the 2 sacs of clothes.
Come home to find DD1 going through her stuff ruthlessly, several more bags of clothes (she hasn't sorted for the last 8 years) and another bag of rubbish. So pleased to see stuff leaving the house and space appearing.

Hope you are feeling a bit better, YL xx
Had a lovely day out with my girl. We spent a fine time in the huge bookshop, had lunch, snuck into a cs and picked up a couple of bits, including some Christmas cards. This evening I am fit for nothing, but have made us some carrot soup out of bendy carrots, and cooked an easy meal for DH. Cooked some more plums which were getting soft. WULTD and now have a cuppa. I need to motivate myself to get some more of this dratted knitting done so that I can move on to other projects-in-waiting.8 -
Fayolle thanks hun, sounds like you had a really lovely day. We are going away for 5 nights next week with DS1 and his GF. We shouldnt really be spending the money but DS wanted us all to go away together, and well, you just never know. Making memories it what it is all about.
Still dont feel good. Stuck it out at work and did my meeting, all a bit of a blur if I am honest. Full day at it again tomorrow.
Think DS1 has sorted out a swap so he can move into a different staff house, he is not himself, bit worried about him. Might get a bit more out of him while we are away. I know he really wants to move in with his GF but its not easy, especially around here where house prices are sky high.
On the flying front I have done 3 loads of washing now finishing off in the tumbler, rain forecast for tomorrow. Thats about it, hopefully I will get a slightly earlier finish tomorrow. Bedtime soon.9 -
Morning all
Pouring with rain here and set in for the day. It’s been a frustrating 24 hours to say the least so I’ve decided to designate tomorrow a me day, which will involve my book and lots of tea and Maltesers.
In the meantime today I need to make a decision about work and act on it (I know what I’m going to do deep deep down but it’s still not something for me to take lightly), dry the laundry by the fire and sort the eczema on my face out somehow.
Swimming after school today for the children. It was 27 degrees this time last week, it’s 13 today! Big hugs to all xxx
YL - please listen to your body and REST

pouring down here too, surveyor for remortgage visit first thing so I did a quick fly around, swished over all bathrooms and loos, made the bed, opened windows for a bit, vac’d stairs and hard floors, wiped down kitchen, emptied dishwasher, washed cats bowls and emptied composting bin. Once he had finished I started the paid stuff…
doing some training this morning and waiting for the next lot to load up, meetings all afternoon again so will have an early lunch.
hope you are all ok, hugs, sticks and spoons available as needed x9 -
Lunch pause at work here. First day back and a full long day. But before I left home I did a few bits
Bed made, clothes picked up
Wultd
Wiped round kitchen
Not a lot but at least it should be nice to go home to no big mess.ASB making big life decisions is very tiring, so you’re absolutely right to plan a ‘look after me day’ and rest tomorrow. How do you teach people to stick their tongue out to make the th sound when wearing a mask? Teaching pronunciation has been hopeless this morning and my jaws ache from over articulating.Quick coffee before I start again9 -
Glorious soggy morning here too..ex-dil brought DS1 home.. he has had a bit of a mental breakdown with work pressures and no time off, no sleep and no food.. He got changed and left the house again so OH is playing pool with him in the pub.. joy! I am trying to get through to the GP to see if they ever registered him when we sent the forms back in May. DS never mentioned it so I don't know.
Squeak has happpily done her lessons for the morning and gone off to the shop with DS2 for bread and milk and they are posting my 3 parcels.. FLING!
Twinkle has a paed referral for the lump in her chest.. the dr didn't think it was anything sinister and it isn't painful it is just weird so they are asking about xrays just to see what it is. She has been really tired (probably related to Dot) and her legs are hurting so it is possible it is all down to a growth spurt, she doesn't do growing very much she is a teeny thing. I think I am just being a bit neurotic because she is the baby but it doesn't hurt to get her checked I'm sure. The best bit was I had to take her straight fromschool so she was covered in blood from the nosebleed she had in the afternoon so we have noseblled advice and also the eczema in her ear is having a flare up so that was looked at too.. it was a full work up lol.
Washing brought in just as the rain started so I can get that sorted.
I need to trot to my mothers to check on her as she has Shingles which started the day before she had to fly home from holiday.. and I may need to go find OH in the pub and rescue him.. I can go on the premise of taking raincoats.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)8 -
Afternoon all. Raining here too but I did manage a dog walk.
Had a lovely day with DD yesterday. No flying apart from a little admin being done here today as I am going to have a relaxing day before going back to paid stuff tomorrow. Originally I was supposed to be going out, but the weather has put paid to that and I'm actually quite pleased.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
Afternoon everyone. The morning disappeared very quickly.
(((Hugs))) to all in need, especially asb, YL, Natty, pigpen's DS1 and Twinkle, and Valli x
I had a better night last night - slept through for nearly 7 hours. Obviously I needed it. On top of all the usual Flying, I have been sorting cupboards and drawers in every room, trying to get rid of some of the junk while I can. Yesterday I decided it was time to bring the old Dy$0n upstairs and keep in the landing cupboard, so I moved things round in there, putting various bits in the CS box, and then emptied the Dy$0n. That reminded me that occasionally (once in a blue moon!) DH hoovers the floor of his man cave, and I will *not* allow him to take over my new, lighter weight, bagless thingy for sawdust and the rest of the mess he manages to produce. So in the end the old machine has stayed downstairs, and I still have to carry the bagless one up- and downstairs - but I can see a bit of floor in the landing cupboard for the first time for ages.
Also yesterday, I defrosted and cleaned out both !!!!!!. Today I need to go shopping, so I have checked all my food cupboards and thrown out odd little bits dated before (often well before) 2020. I reckon anything dried or tinned that is newer than that will not hurt us, even if it's lost a bit of flavour. Everything has cost money, and I don't throw money away!
DS1 came on his way home from work and zapped the hornets' nest with killer spray, and there is no sign of them this morningI paid him in coffee cake, but we also scoffed jam-and-cream filled doughnuts which he brought with him - he knows my weaknesses
It has been tipping down here today too, but I managed to get outside for an hour between showers and have tidied up all the pots in the back garden and the borders in the front - mainly removing dead flowers and foliage, because it's green bin day tomorrow. I have saved poppy seed heads to shake out over the border alongside the drive, and then found some spectacular, weird seed pods on my chocolate vine (I thought for a minute that I had found a new type of wasp nest). I'm very happy to send some seeds if anyone wants some, but the vine is rampant almost to the point of becoming invasive! Rosie is still a bit miserable - she even failed to bark at the postman today - but she did come and say hello to the NNDN while I was chatting to her.
I have written myself a reminder to pick the ripest tomato this evening and take it to DH. He is still languishing in the horse piddle, a fair bit better than he was, though still on oxygen and very short on stamina, and undergoing various cardiology tests. They don't seem to be in a hurry to send him home. He says thank you very much for all the Flylady wishes x
I've finished my coffee, so will go and do the shopping before I get my lunch. I ate my tea at 9 pm yesterday after hospital visiting, and all my meal times have shifted accordingly.
xx
