I really like that version by Cash and the video with him and June in is rather moving. He also does a good version of Depeche Mode's 'Personal Jesus'edinburgher said:I spent many a merry night in the "Cathouse" nightclub in Glasgow, Disturbed featured quite regularly, although it was most often "Down with the Sickness". A friend often sends on a meme that explains exactly when you need to start this track on Hogmany so that it gets to the chorus by midnight!
If you want to climb back out of the rabbit hole and go down another one, I like when less rawk artists cover heavy metal songs - for example - the Johnny Cash version of "Hurt" by Nine Inch Nails is stellar
I also really like Disturbed's Sound of Silence - although haven't listened to any other stuff from them.
My addition to the music pot is this:

(Am on phone so link may not link properly) - Big Country covering Eleanor Rigby. The chap on the violin (name escapes me right now) is fantastic!

I like both versions, to be honest. When I first heard the Johnny Cash version, my assumption was that it was him singing to June Carter, and the whole of his last album (American IV: The Man Comes Around) was in that vein; spare, quiet, powerful, soulful. They knew she was ill, but not what was wrong, when he recorded the album.edinburgher said:I spent many a merry night in the "Cathouse" nightclub in Glasgow, Disturbed featured quite regularly, although it was most often "Down with the Sickness". All done
It's always a little strange leaving a job but 1/2 a bottle of Aldi champers took the edge off! My colleagues gave me a very generous voucher for a favourite fancy restaurant. I had the joy of clearing out 10,000+ deleted emails and leaving all the Teams chats
Having a quiet day today. 5 mile walk, nice breakfast at a favourite café, Lord of the Rings marathon when I get home. Going for a float tomorrow afternoon, something I haven't done in years.12 -
