Our beloved moggy (Stealth cat) seems to have stopped pee'ing in the (empty) laundry basket and the bath for the timebeing. She is 14 this month and definitely showing a few signs of getting older (losing a bit of weight and a bit less robust around the "hips" - a bit like me really!). Still a purry old thing, she comes to see me in the bathroom (hence knowing where to pee, perhaps) and snakes around my legs for a fuss. And she has just plucked up courage to curl up on the sofa of an evening, after over three years of our dog living in the house.
I hope your cat continues to improveSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

TBH I'm astounded anyone turned up for £108 - did you read it right? Are you sure there was not an 0 after that?Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!6 -
It was basically shoving one bit of edging back into place, a slap of concrete and a quick swatch for any other wiggly bits. Technical term that.Expecting bad news for S&S what with developments across the pond. I am planning on topping up investments as they fall, worked well during the GFC (albeit it took a couple of years to be proven right), assuming cashflow is sufficient to allow it.6

I am also adding cash into my SIPPS ahead EoY and drip feeding it in over the next couple weeks but painful to see current investments go down - luckily the tax breaks soothe my painDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Happy new tax year, all
First SIPP contribution of the year, £2.52 instead of a Euromillions ticket9 -
Ooft! What a busy dayManaged to drag 4 cases to the finish line in my real job, planning on working a little overtime this evening.£12.32 from Prolific, $0.25 from Connect, screened out of 3 Y Live surveys. The latter 2 platforms may well be for the chop if we're going into a US-induced recession
Connect is inconsistent and pays badly, Y Live is too inconsistent and the fact you can only cash out at £50 is slow and makes for an underwhelming user experience.
£5 paid into my S&S ISA. Otherwise a quiet day.*Edit: 2 hours of overtime done for approximately £54.8 -
Today has been a total anticlimax after my productive day yesterday - the world is obviously getting into Easter holiday mode
A couple of cases dragged to conclusion in my real job.
That said, I signed into my online tax account to try and set myself up for a Self Assessment tax return, found out I couldn't register online, randomly discovered that the gummint owes me £220 in overpaid tax for the year before last! I have claimed this, I hope it turns up soon. Not sure if I'll OP it or contribute it towards our next pocket money target (I need to try and squirrel away £2,040 by September).IRO £2.50 from Prolific, I think I'm being throttled after yesterday. Not really a problem. I'm off with the kids/family next week, so I'll just take a week off and will be considered naive again by the following week.Probably going to do 1-2 hours of overtime tonight. I have 4 hours left for the week and want to be finished by Thursday evening so that I can enjoy my 11-day breakEdit: Just the 1 hour tonight for a wee £35 before deductions.10 -
Sounds very productive, £220 from overpaid tax is better with you! Hope you enjoy your break!Save £20,000 in 2025. April 2k, May 3.5k7

Overtime finished for the week, another £72 or so for the pot. When it's ever approved and paid...
Looking forward to 11 days of no work, no overtime and no very few studies (come on, I can't help myself)5
