I was the tallest in my Junior school pictures by almost a head. Mercifully it slowed down a bit at senior school. Husband was the heaviest baby in Devon, a home birth his mother managed on her own in a snow storm. When the midwife got there, she knocked a few pounds off. Then DS was the longest baby they had recorded at the hospital where he was born (another reason I have just the one). Sat at 98th percentile for height throughout his childhood but mercifully stopped at 1.95m. Weight was always under until the first year after he left home (8 stone [junk-food] gain) - he's pretty lean again now after going on a salary controlled diet. As a postie he walks around 20k steps every day he works, so no weight watching for him.
I hope the rain in the West of Scotland has stopped for you ed. @Suffolk_lass - quite a bit of that made me laugh 😂 I'm wondering what bits the midwife knocked off and I giggled at salary controlled diet. I was a postie one summer, was dreadful at it as I just wanted to go out drinking 😅
The weather here has been blissful of late. Lovely and warm, wee bit of rain over the last couple of days. Had an amazing day out at Largs today. Warm and sunny, ice creams, arcade, walk along the sea front, lunch from award winning chippy.
Pretty sure I'll need to control my own calories soon, I miss Mounjaro!9 -
Easter break was very good fun, if ruinously expensive.Back to sackcloth and ashes, £6 OPed. Surveys seem thin on the ground?7

The usual frantic end to the working week with deadlines, last-minute letters and overtime to consider. Managed to get a couple of hours in today.
Payslip is out for next week and I'm being paid £700 in overtime, which sure beats the surveys! I've only earned about £20 in surveys this month. 8% paid into my SIPP, fractionally over £70 after pension tax relief. I've also been topping up my very small ISA pot by whatever the daily %age fall is as the crazy pronouncements arrive from across the pond.
Grocery shopping done, one child off to bed and another on the way. Might be time for a wee drink? 😉7 -
Ooh yes, a wee drink. I helped at the children's agricultural show in err, Suffolk yesterday. Literally thousands of children to talk to. They are so loud! At least one (maths) teacher was thrilled when I mentioned the perfect hexagon shape of the wax combs that bees make. They were all perfect little hexagons until the boys started pressing and crumbling the brace comb! Revolting little horrors! Some of the girls too, but noticeable the boys could not just weigh in their hands and examine. Their urge to crush and destroy at aged 7-10 was apparently overwhelming! Take heart that girls are certainly easier, although with the disposition to say "Wow!" in response to every new piece of information (which I took to signify "la, la, la, I'm not listening!"). I had forgotten how exhausting large numbers of them can be. I think I am getting old!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Incredible overtime payment, but, do hope you are not overdoing it to be banking that.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!7 -

No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Thanks all. That's just over 5 hours a week. It's probably less time than I had been spending on AI studies, so probably an improvement to my work life balanceI am loaded with the cold today, only managed 4 hours of sleep last night. Still, medicine and caffeine are helping. Fitting in 3 hours of overtime this morning, on a brief coffee break.£8.82 OPed.10
