@edinburgher, I stopped using Ch@se for my everyday spending when they upped the monthly amount to pay in from £500 to £1500. Being self employed and not having a payday as such, it was too complicated for me. I still have the account open and my cashback goes in there atm. I opted for a TSBee account instead as it was giving £15 a month cashback for 6 months plus another freebie at the end of that period if I make 20 debit card transactions a month. Not sure what I'll do when that offer is over.6

I've dried 4 loads of washing outside on the line this year, all in the last week, somehow drying washing on the line makes me feel I've achieved something whilst using the airer and dehumidifier doesn't 🤷
Well done on sticking to your boundaries and communicating that.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

What a day!
Took the kids to Edinburgh zoo. A spendy day out, but Mrs E got reduced price tickets and made us all packed lunches. She did end up buying ice creams and drinks (which were very expensive), but all things considered a reasonable value day out. We had a lovely time and are all exhausted (if you've never been to Edinburgh zoo, it's basically built on the side of a mountain)Timed our exit very skillfully by accident to avoid the rugby traffic, I could see a motorcycle policeman stopping traffic on the other side of the road for a team coach as we drove through Corstorphine. Home as the national anthem came on. Not the result we would have liked, but a win and a BP are not to be sniffed at.£18.48 OPed (this was for 3 days, the mortgage balance doesn't update at the weekend).
Chippy tea for dinner, Mrs E and I split the bill.ZzzzZzz10 -

Bravo with the packed lunches (Mrs) ed - I know what you mean about drinks/ice cream prices - but having lugged hot chocolate/coffee and some huge amount of water about (albeit between the 3 of us), yesterday, I'm not sure I can recommend the alternative 🤪

the zoo trip sounds fun !DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

A very early start, woke up feeling anxious at about 05:30. Mainly work, I need to set aside some time to look for jobs today, I've not been feeling myself for days. The sunshine and physical exertion helped at the weekend, the beer not so much. My current job has peaks and troughs of demand and I fall into the trap of thinking "this is ok" in the troughs. It's not, it's well past its sell-by date and I need to keep looking.I just missed some short AI studies this morning, will keep an eye out for new ones and slot them into my day as is the style. Up to about £135 for the month already (£185 as Y Live hasn't paid out yet, but will).£3.47 OPed, £2.50 cashback from Chase, £1 cashback from TCB. It's funny, that feels like £7 in the bank, even though I've basically broken evenI hope that everyone else is taking Monday in their stride7
