It should bounce to the relevant app store, or the app itself if already installed. The new customer can use the code instead if they manually install the app.
Hi, do you know at what stage in the application process it asks you to input the referral code?
It doesn't, the link you click/tap is all you need.
Ahhh, the link I was sent doesn’t seem to work, it’s not redirecting me to the AppStore to download the app. Bit frustrating. Will try again tomorrow.

Has anybody had a problem with chase UK and fraud? Somebody has managed to withdraw all funds from my account.

Usually I need to approve any online payments on the app but this must of been overridden. I am worried that their are weaknesses in chases controls and  systems as a new bank in the UK.

I have reported it to chase but the customer service is very poor and I don't feel they are really looking into this.
Withdrawn? As in a cash withdrawal, debit card payment, or bank transfer?
Deposits into Mecca bingo which I've never used before in my life. The deposits were at 17.00 yesterday. I suspect the hackers have deposited into online wallet at Mecca bingo then withdrawn the funds from the Mecca bingo online wallet into a different bank account. Usually when I make online payments with chase it requires authorisation on the app, so I second approve the payment. Not sure how the hackers have bypassed this or how the chase app has allowed them to do so, as I certainly didn't approve these payments

Keep pushing and escalating, reminding them of their obligations imposed by the FCA, under which they must refund "by the end of the next business day, unless the bank has reasonable grounds to suspect that you acted fraudulently", with the onus being on them to prove that you did authorise the transactions rather than you having to demonstrate that you didn't:

There is a short period of time after you've completed your application and set up the app that you can enter it via the offers section.

Are they labelled as "Payment" (bank transfer) or "Purchase" (debit card payment)? If payment, then that could only be done by someone with control of your device, suggesting it's under the control of fraudsters. A purchase would normally need to be authorised in the app, but a fraudster may be aware of exceptions and has exploited one of these just with your card details without needing to get into your device.

According to https://blog.meccabingo.com/credit-card-ban, deposits into Mecca Bingo can be made via Paypal. Do you have a Paypal account which is linked to your Chase account? I am not entirely familiar with Paypal but believe it can pull money from current accounts via Direct Debit. If there is one, you should see it in your Chase account.

Also, I don’t believe that 100% of all online debit card transactions require aproval in the Chase app. I had some low value transactions going through without approval. What are the values of the fraudulent transactions on your account?

There would be the potential to fund via direct debit (requires bank account to be confirmed, where Paypal makes a 1p faster payment with a code in the reference field that needs to be entered in Paypal). In a way this would be the best possibility as there would be the most protection afforded by the direct debit guarantee. Paypal account holder would need access to the Chase transaction list to pull this off, however.

It seems that all of my online, or in-app, transactions require app approval before payment atm.

Even a £2.60 train fare, in-app, though that has been overcome by using my Curve card number instead, attached to Chase.

Yesterday, I had five online transactions all require app approval before being processed.

I understand the measure, however, it does become quite irritating at times.

I have just tried to take some money out at an ATM but I couldn't physically put my card in, I tried several times and different ways but it wouldn't take my card, I then tried another bank card which it accepted with no problem.
Has anyone else had this problem as surely you must be able to use card at an ATM?

There have been occasions where I haven't needed to approve, for example when modifying an online order where the revised amount is lower than the earlier approved amount. I have always needed to reapprove a modified order that's for a greater amount of money. I've not yet placed an online order that hasn't needed an initial approval.
