Perhaps that's it. Nice of them to offer a grace period for people who would otherwise have just missed out on the offer.kaspar11 said:
It comes up as an offer called "Been referred by a friend?" and then when I click it I put the code in.When you say you're an existing customer, how did you enter your friend's referral code?
Maybe its because I've only been a customer a couple of days.
Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app and it might make the referral deal appear on your app. This worked for two people on Reddit.0 -
I tried to open an account today and apparently my phone isn't good enough to bank with them. It's a shame they don't mention that in their flashy ads so you don't waste time downloading the app, trying to resolve with scrolling through settings, reading manuals, adding an SD card and phoning their help centre...all to no avail. I guess they don't want money savers who don't want or need to "upgrade" their phone every week as it's working just fine (except with Chase...) I shall stick with my proper bank that doesn't "promise the earth as long as you have a flashy phone".0

I wouldn't necessarily say you need a flashy phone. My phone (Honor 9) is 4 years old and works with Chase App.Nozz said:I tried to open an account today and apparently my phone isn't good enough to bank with them. I can confirm that they seem to allow recently new joiners to retrospectively add referral code. I got someone to join yesterday and within their rewards, was as kaspar had, an offer to add referral code up until 24th May.2 -

Released in 2017 and not supported by Samsung since Feb 2021. Probably running Android 8.0Nozz said:

I can see the referral deal (which is how I found the T&Cs). I've been a customer for almost 6 months, so don't qualify to be referred to Chase, so just have the option to refer others.kaspar11 said:

I know that, it still works fine though and, unlike Samsung asnd Apple, I don't believe in turning the planet into a landfill site. I'm no eco warrior, I just expect things to last. My point is, if a bank only offers an app account then it should suit all smart phones or offer a web account too so as not to be exclusionary.noh said:

What kind of phone do you have?It is not safe to perform sensitive operations such as banking on a phone that had major security flaws and hasn't received security patches to fix them. Also, there are features only available in newer/64-bit operating systems that are required. The issue is that device manufacturers are responsible for which operating systems they load on their devices and how long they allow them to receive security updates and upgrades. Samsung is particularly poor in this regard, but Apple is very good. For Android, the only manufacturer that offers long-term updates is Google. If you want your device to last, there are two premium options out there, one for iOS and one for Android.Banks do get to choose how they offer their services to customers, and customers get to choose whether or not to use a particular bank. There are plenty of options out there, some banks don't have any branches, some don't have online banking at all, and some offer branch/online/app/phone/post. Take your pick. More channels = greater costs, which will ultimately be borne by customers.3
