Ah, that’s good to know. Currently have it going out with Santander 123 with all my other monthly utilities earning zilch. But if that’s the case, then hello £1.50!miller said:flaneurs_lobster said:

With how easy it is to generate extra Chase current accounts, has anyone tried to use them for an outbound switch? Any experiences to share?
I've thought about this - but I'm not convinced they are genuine accounts. They don't have their own card, for instance, you often need a card number to switch.
I think they are sub-accounts, and you could end up switching the whole lot out, instead of one of the accounts.2 -
Hello, I’ve just returned from South Africa. I used my chase card everywhere and didn’t have a single issue. I even used it with Apple Pay and bar taking cash out I didn’t use my card once. It’s good to keep some cash to tip rangers after game drives as well as if you hire a car - tipping “car minders” and petrol fuel attendants. Happy with all of the cash back I’ve earned! And the £ to Rand exchange rate is very much in our favour at the moment. I went to SA a year ago and again used my chase card with no issues. The prices are roughly the same a year later but the exchange rate is 10-20% better in our favour than this time last year. Enjoy it’s an amazing country and the people are very welcoming.iwanawinsumat said:Hi, Hoping for some advice. I am going alone on a Titan travel, Safari Adventure in South Africa. Most of my meals & drinks are included.
I was thinking of only changing £50 into South African Rands as I'd rather use my Chase Card whilst there.
Has anyone had any problems using Chase in South Africa & is it widely accepted?
Thanks3 -
I regret leaving them but no DD at the time. Is it still the case you are banned for life if you close the account?0

The last posts that I recall seeing on this subject appear to not actually say "banned for life", but more along the lines of "we are not in a position to accept returning customers at this time".[Deleted User] said:I regret leaving them but no DD at the time. Suggests to me, that it may be more a technical issue, than a policy decision. Though, of course, I may well be wrong.
Chase may be more mindful of the fact that some may be trying to return, just to use them as a burner account for a switch, now that they are part of CASS, and leave again within days of the account being opened.1 -
Thanks ever so much for your reply, you have been so helpful. I'm really looking forward to itc1995 said:

I think someone somewhere said switching out of Chase closes all your current accounts. I can't remember where, might have been Andy Webb.0
