Chase have quietly extended my cashback period by 5 months, due to end February 28th now instead of Sept 22. I only noticed this by chance, didn’t receive any notification.

Way to go, Chase 👏👏👏👏 (assuming this hasn’t been done by mistake)

    Check yours.
How can you check the date the cashback offer is due to expire?
If you scroll down to rewards, select it, then you'll see the 1% cashback listed along with its expiry date.

I’m still fairly new to Chase and have used the multiple accounts feature to manage my sinking funds and budget.

I currently have been moving money between the accounts to make use of the cashback and round ups which is fiddly. Does anyone know if the 1% cashback and the round up feature applies regardless of which sub account you are “spending from”?

The debit card is linked to one current account which you can select in the app, click on the partly obscured image of the card which is at the top.

It does not matter which spend from account is selected, you get the 1% cashback and round up on debit card purchases.

  • I think you may experience this issue with multiple banks, when transferring large sums, however, I do understand your frustration as I have experienced it many times myself, not always for large sums either.

After 23 September, my Chase usage will be minimal.

Keeping one savings account to act like a bills pot, in the way my Club Lloyd's acted, albeit for more than twice the interest of that account.
Not an issue with other banks. I have around 3K left in the account and now trying to get it out by 1K transfers to avoid security checks.  Being "interrogated" after every transfer seems like my money are held hostage.

Other banks are catching up with interest on savings, so there's no need to use Chase.

Chase have dropped out of the top 15 easy access accounts.

I’m currently abroad and mostly using my Chase debit card with a couple of Starling & Monzo transactions thrown in to have a little usage. All the time that Chase pay the cash back they’re my go-to account overseas.

In addition to the cash back there’s the fact that you can earn interest at 1.5% on most of your balance and easily move between your savings and current account when needed. 1.5% easy access is no longer the best on offer but it’s convenient to have some money there. Startling & Monzo would rely on either having a reasonable amount there for the duration or transferring in externally, both of which have downsides.

For me, the 5% on roundups is pretty pointless. I don’t use this account at home a great deal so my monthly interest is pennies. I did realise this when I activated it but thought I might as well. I don’t intend to bother renewing once it matures.

Not sure if this was since the Google Pay -> Google Wallet transition, but trying to pay this way now with the Wetherspoon's App generates an error "cannot 3d secure non-credit card transaction".

Had same problem 24 August. Used alternative card through PayPal instead.

A general question about chargeback and the Chase debit card.

I have a potential conflict with an online transaction that would qualify for Section 75 on a credit card but might also be something that could be dealt with by a simple chargeback. In simple terms I have returned an item within 14 days and requested a refund and the trader refuses to acknowledge obligations under  the distance selling provisions of the relevant consumer laws.  I don’t need any help with understanding those legal rights but simply I’m asking for observations or even better first-hand experience prior to issuing as a last resort a “money claim” about what help if any I might get  from Chase with a chargeback request.

Is it likely that Chase would respond helpfully to a chargeback request for my debit card purchase?

    Thanks in advance …..
