More likely explanation is it is the delayed reporting of an earlier transaction. @returnofghandi have you spent any money in Tesco recently?

I keep a record of all transactions for the current month but going by my Tesco clubcard account I found the a transaction was made on 30 May for the amount! What a palaver!!  I then dug out old receipts in the shredder queue and found the actual receipt! I can't get used to this Slow Banking stuff! 😡
Sorry! Did the middle of my sentence interrupt the beginning of yours!

I agree. As I posted earlier, I had one arrive in account two hours late, recorded as transacted at that time 🤷‍♂️

Only two hours late! Are you a Chase UK VIP? Mine was only 17 days late 🤔.

I find it trickier to keep track when they don't show a running balance - except in the monthly statements.

Another irritation is that payee references aren't saved along with the account no. and sort, except for standing orders.  Many payees, including building societies, require a reference to find the right account. So when you're used to references being saved, it looks way too easy to forget to add one or to get it wrong. It also looks less secure when different references can be used without a check.

Yes, lack of running balance is a bugbear of mine and I have already suggested they should add this to the app.

Seems to be common across app only/first banks. But the others seem to at least have a workaround of being able to view a statement up to current.

made a complaint and Chase have asked me how much compensation I expect for several payment delays of up to 2.5 days involving £50000, hours spent contacting them to no avail, loss of interest, and loss of £30 cashback as a result of not trusting Chase to process further large payments expeditiously. Don't know whether to suggest a figure and if so how much or ask them to make an offer?

Suggest a figure. Include the lost interest. I don't think you can include loss of cashback if you've not attempted to use Chase for those qualifying debit card payments totalling £3,000. As for compensation for distress and inconvenience, what was the actual impact? Were you trying to move savings from one account to another to benefit from a better interest rate and were delayed from doing so? If so, it would probably fall into the "under £100" band used by the FOS when calculating awards.

@kuepper I asked for, and received £25 after a £5K payment was delayed. My complaint was "not upheld" - the £25 was described as a "goodwill payment"
