Have folks noticed an improvement in getting cash out of Chase?

Nope, not straight withdrawals,  I haven't made any faster payments this week, neither in nor out, but it seems they're finding brand-new ways to screw-up customers.

Had a notification from them at 6.00 this morning saying they've declined to make a debit card payment for my weekly grocery delivery.  Plenty of cash in current and savings account, and it's been paid same day every week since April.  No bigger than usual.

Now waiting for a call-back to learn what's happening. Another day, another conversation with what seems to be the most clueless outfit ever.

Edit. Had a call-back, and it seems they're "having issues".  They can't do anything about it, and I'll have to contact the supermarket to make the payment again - preferably using another bank that knows how to do this banking stuff.  So service as normal at Chase.

That's pretty bad. Did they offer you anything to cover the inconvenience (and of course lost cashback)?

No nothing, but they did wish me a nice day,  I did ask the agent to log a complaint and will see how they handle it.  I expect at least a token tenner for having to mess about bleary-eyed at 6.00am before my first coffee. Does make me appreciate how proper banks manage to make these payments time after time without a hitch or another thought.

Anyone having issues with debit card payments this morning? Not tried it myself but other half has had their card declined for a transaction online and in a shop, no reason for it.

At least they gave acknowledged this one, albeit timing is a bit misleading (first time is when issue was reported in service status, not when it started):

Card payments are being declined more often

    Investigating
We have a problem with some of our systems at the moment.

It means that card transactions aren't processing on our side properly. More card transactions than normal are being declined. This also affects your card details and Apple Pay or Google Pay.

Faster Payments to other banks and accounts are not affected.

We know you count on your bank for the important things in life. We are working as fast as we can to fix the problem and will update you as soon as we know more. We're sorry for any problems this causes you.

  • No issues with debit card payments, however, notifications have been arriving up to two hours later, the transaction recorded as having occurred at that later time.

eg Primark receipt 12:32 | Notification received 14:25 | In app transaction time 14:25

    Work that out!

Just noticed some weird indexing bug - click on the latest transaction under all activity and it shows the details of the one below. Click back, click the top one again and it shows the third one and so on. Nice coding!
  • Anyone else had a fraudulent debit from their current account today?

Apparently whilst I was still in bed, with my card in my wallet by my bed, I used my card in Tesco at 0637 this morning!!!
Sorry! Did the middle of my sentence interrupt the beginning of yours!

I've not, but it's concerning when taken with everything else on this thread. Are the last 4 digits of the transaction definitely the physical card (i.e. they don't match the virtual card in the transaction details)? If so, sounds like it has been cloned.
