To be completely honest I think the effort has exceeded the usefulness.

None of us want this trauma .  My general point was that it seems to me that a credit card might be more prudent for potentially problematic beefy purchases rather than relying on a possible chargeback from Chase at the moment.  that was my only pondering.   I think this exchange at least shows it might be worth considering. Let’s leave it at that.
Ok, but I am always happy to help someone who has been wronged by the system, as it seems you have.

A bank has refused my request for a chargeback. I appealed to the FCA.

If you indeed appealed to the FCA, you appealed to the wrong body. As has already been mentioned, the FCA is not consumer facing and does not have adjudicators.

You probably appealed to the FOS, and your case should be on the FOS website. You may or may not wish to post a link to it, so we can all see the details.

Anyone else spot the irony of other Chase related posts/threads being directed to use this thread instead 😉 ?

You are correct.  I didn’t appeal to  the FCA.

I incorrectly wrote FCA whilst considering two replies to my post and  answering a different post than yours and it sort of stuck

My dealings with the FCA have all been related to my professional dealings with respect to Insurance companies and in particular a travel insurance company.  Re-read my posts and transpose FCA to FOS as you rightly corrected me.

My dealings with the FOS have been from both a personal viewpoint and professionally. But long retired so put my inadvertent error to age and drink.  I apologise for the misleading error. Everything else is exactly as I posted.

How long should I expect for the physical Chase card to arrive in the post?

Applied and opened account 23/04 around 12pm and still nothing has turned up!
I applied on 20/4 and am still waiting for my physical card. My wife applied a few days ago and was advised card could take 2 weeks.

If you use ApplePay or GooglePay or Curve, you don't actually need the physical Chase card. All your card details are in your app, so you can use it straight away through one or all of these three methods.
  • Hi, Trying to open a chase account and i'm in a "waiting room" - anyone else who experienced this, how long did you need to wait before you could proceed with the application?
I opened mine last week, 20mins start to finish...my pal opened on thurs/Fri and still sat in the waiting room this morning v.frustrating...is anyone else finding it is taking days to open a chase account? I can't find any other info...its not a good first impression for those waiting.

What happens when you finally leave the "Waiting room",
Do you get a notification, or do you have to keep checking the App?

Interesting post about temporary card freeze due to unusual roundups in another thread:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/79239516/#Comment_79239516

....We understand that this is a fantastic new feature however we must advise you that it should only be used for normal everyday spending. At this stage, we are just making you aware of how the round-up facility is intended to work, however should this activity continue we will have to close your account.

No surprises that scanning shopping items individually and putting through as separate transactions was going to provoke a response... wasn't someone enquiring about doing this just recently in this thread?
