They don't ask you to do so. No harm in sending them a live chat message letting them know, and let them tell you it isn't necessary in future.

Anyone know how long the default drop off for a authorisation is with Chase?

A Hilton pre-authed my card twice (due to the virtual card used online vs the physical card) and it's been 8 days already. The other auth has been captured on check out.

Re: my small transaction appearing three times - still no response from CS but I just noticed that one of the three disappeared and the balance is back on the account (funnily enough not the round-up amount though, I had a nice XYZ.00 balance so because I use round-up I was looking forward to it staying that way)

I am starting to think that the other "dupe" is actually my purchase from yesterday evening, did not remember what the amount was then but was a single item so may well have been the same amount as this morning. No transaction is showing for yesterday so it makes sense. Also, the most recent transaction (this morning at 8am) still says pending but I guess that's normal.

No damage done overall, but I think I'll start keeping a more watchful eye on what the app is showing in terms of payments and whether it really matches with what I used the card(s) for.

It was listed on their site as being a reported and repaired incident.

    Seeing a duplicate transaction?

    Investigating
Usually when you pay with your card, the merchant asks us to authorise the amount. When this happens, the transaction shows up on your Activity list. The transaction shows as 'Pending' in the transaction details and we deduct the money from your balance in the app.

Sometimes, we'll get a second transaction come through. This second transaction is reversed within a few seconds so it disappears from your app. At the moment, that second transaction is taking longer to disappear, so the money looks like it has been taken from your account twice.

This second transaction should disappear from your app and your balance should be updated within 2 working days. If this doesn't happen, or this causes you problems, please contact us. We know this can be difficult and we're working to speed this back up.

Tried to refer a couple of friends to get the RAF £20 but they both got scared and didn't proceed when their bank didn't recognise the institution (Chase) they were sending money to.

Hi, Trying to open a chase account and i'm in a "waiting room" - anyone else who experienced this, how long did you need to wait before you could proceed with the application?

I was in the waiting oom overnight. Tried to join up one evening and was put in the waiting room. I was working the next day and didn't check again until around 6pm and could then proceed. I don't know just when I was able to go ahead though.

    Hi all,

I looked and cannot find it.  Is the chase debit card purchases  covered by potential chargebacks?

As a debit card I suppose that you do not receive section 75 protection.

    Thanks.
