TAPLADY - I'm so glad your DS has found somewhere within walking distance of work - that will be a weight off your mind. His new place sounds lovely.

CATZNINE - hope you're feeling better now.

STEFIJIB - (((Hugs))) to you - as it is your only mistake in 8 years, you deserve to be forgiven. I hope it all works out for you.

CATOWEN - good to hear you're feeling positive about the weekend's events; you and your children must come first.

TWINK - I'm sure you look absolutely stunning!

TRU - now I'm singing it! Yay, lol!

Well, the Sky man has been and replaced the Sky+ box so I've lost Colin Firth and I'm cross. I'd also taped a programme about Marvin Gaye (my all-time favourite singer) and lost that as well as the first three episodes of the Power of the Planet - I hadn't watched any of them and my Mum said they have been brilliant. I daren't think of what else I've lost - oh, yes, Dirty Dancing, the film, which I've never seen. Still, An Officer and a Gentleman is on on Wednesday - Richard Gere looking edible in his uniform will get me over the Colin Firth thing!

Well, must go and post the book I've sold and a couple of letters.

    Will drop in later.

  • I am having another shot posting from work but I am sure the formatting will be all over the place. Sorry about my rant last night - my mother can make me most incoherent with rage at times. She can be so selfish. I have deleted what I thought was another duplicate post from last night to find it wasn't. Maybe the anger had something to do with the duplication.
I do know that many people find happiness through internet dating and in fact many friendships are formed (like ours here on MSE). However, my cousin is I am afraid clutching at straws (she admitted that to me). She has beautiful features and has been advised by the doctors that if she doesn't lose weight soon she will kill herself. She is already crippled and is diabetic. She is on a waiting list to have a stomach reduction but doctors not sure if she will survive the anaesthetic. The guys she has hoped to meet via the internet always have let her down by not turning up or not phoning when they say they will.Anyhooooooo, I am calmer now and am looking forward not back. Will post again regarding all of you going through a hard time if this doesn't look too over place when I press the submit button.Love to you all GBxxxxx
PS Well apart from no spacing between the paragraphs do you think you could put up with day time posting?

Hi yes I do still exist!!!!!! huge computer problems which are now about 3/4 solved:j :j (I hope) Without boring everyone turns out that this(computer) was rather shall we say well used whilst it was being "repaired" in Aug. Had stuff uninstalled(our fire wall and printer:eek: ) stuff installed an unknown printer software and "they????????????" seem to have registered with a lot of forums(thank God nothing dodgy given our jobs) ie a discussion site about camper vans:confused: one about Emmerdale, one about Newts and golf ?????????????????? Upshot is that Wesley a lad that DH tutored has been sorting the mess out. It has taken rather a long time as he is at uni and hten got the flu Anyway he has finally found the major problem re accessing my PM's there is a default setting that he is going to sort out by the weekend:j :j :j My box is full and i am dying to read them all. The down side is that I have had to change our passwords for everything on the computer. I just can't believe how many websites we(well mostly me to be honest:o ) are on. It has taken ages. So only the PM's and Facebook to be sorted then normality (well as normal as i can ever be:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: ) resumes.
So HUGS TO ALL I have missed you all and have been dying to catch up. As a treat i am going to have a dayprobably Thursday or Friday when I am going to read the 3 weeks worth of daily I have missed _pale_ _pale_ _pale_ I will arm myself with an A4 pad and make notes!!!!!!!!! But untill then.....:T :T :T :T    :easter_ba :EasterBun :bdaycake: :bdaycake: :bdaycake: :bdaycake: :staradmin  :smileyhea :heartsmil :xmastree: :xmassign: :hello: :hello: :hello: :grouphug: :grouphug: :coffee: :coffee:  Think that should just about cover it!!!!!!!!! Take care and have a great day. Ann xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • Morning Everyone!

Yet again, I can't keep up everyday with the thread, so will just have to post as and when I can.

Hillstep - I wish you and your mum well, and hope everything goes okay today.

Catznine - I love Gluwein! I'm going Austria in January and we stand on a frozen lake and drink it. Surreal cos the lake is usually one we swim in in Summer!

Taplady - £67 a week sounds good. We charge my bf's lil bro £220 a month and that's everything included (and I cook for him). Think we're too generous really. He's 19 and I can't wait till he moves out. I think he needs to grow up a bit and start being an adult. There is no way I'd be doing his washing or ironing, I was almost spitting feathers when he asked me to do his ironing when he moved in. Maybe it's because I have no children yet, or maybe I just don't like lazy s0ds :rotfl:

Dinner last night was very OS. I had a slice of bread and butter, but the bread was divine, straight out of breadmaker. The others had leftover goulash, so that was OS too.

I attempted making refridgerator cookies yesterday, but I went wrong somewhere. Think it's Pipkin's recipe. I had it in the fridge since Sat, but when I came to cut it into rounds, it was just a mush and I ended up pretty much mixing it up together again and "dolloping" it on the baking tray! :o

I've almost finished my Transformers dishcloth, but am going to start a cot cover for my bf's sister tonight.

Going to put WM on when I get in cos I need the top I'm wearing for a party I'm going to on Saturday and bf is helping with dinner tonight as he is not working.

Roast Chicken, roasties and veg for dinner tonight.

EDIT: Just re read what I wrote. I didn't mean it was because it was Pipkin's recipe that it went wrong, just that that was who I got it from. Sorry Pipkin! x

    GRANNYBROON - (((Hugs))) to you.

ANNIESTAR - I can't believe they had the nerve to use your computer while it was being repaired and the trouble it has caused you.

KYLE - I hope your back stops hurting soon. When my DS2 was small, I resorted to standing the Christmas tree in the playpen to stop him fiddling with it; it worked a treat! We had an old-fashioned wooden one (well, it was state-of-the-art back then!) so it was easy to feed the wires through for the lights and it kept all the presents from spilling out all over the floor.

Well, I was hoping DGS would be coming round after school but he is still not fully recovered from his cold last week; his Mum and Dad are both off work, he with a cold and she with vomiting, and DGD has also been sick so a very sickly house. They don't want to spread it so have kept themselves 'contained'. At least they'll all be better for Christmas although I know my DIL will be panicking about having so much to do and not being well enough to do it. I shall phone them again tonight and ask if I can do anything to help. Don't you just hate it when loved ones are ill? I can't stand it! Mind you, I don't think DS1 helped himself at the weekend - he went on a mini-marathon through puddles in the rain, but he felt OK then. He has been suitably told off. The weather was so bad I didn't think he'd go. I think he's mad!

Well, now that DGS is not coming round this afternoon, I have no excuse not to do the ironing so will put the board up in a minute. I have been up to get the paper and some more milk. It's a lovely day today here; really cold but bright and sunny. I wore my bargain River Island maxi-coat (£7 in a charity shop and almost new) and my 99p lambswool scarf and my 50p leather gloves! Oh, and my £4 shoes. I hope I didn't look that cheap!

I had to queue at the post office and noticed that everyone is having to bring their cards in to be weighed - I think there's going to be massive queues right up until Christmas because everyone will want to double check the postage. The Royal Mail didn't think of that, did they? Or perhaps they did and just don't care!

Well, must go off and do something.

    See you later.

What a great idea! If only I could find a playpen it might just work to keep the puppy off our tree!

    Morning all

Everyone seems bright and breezy today. Hugs to those poorly ones though.

Congrats Mr and Mrs Pincher - enjoy your day.

Catznine - Your trip sounds lovely - just take it easy now though.

Cat - Nice to hear you sounding more positive today - enjoy your chirstmas tree painting.

Granyboon - I didn't read your thread yesterday so may be talking twaddle here but there are some good relationships formed on the net, I've met some lovely people that I've chatted to over the years, although I'll have to say, the loveliest one I met didn't actually go home and we've been married 6 years in January :D .

Very frosty here this morning and clear blue skies - it's just the right sort of weather - my favourtie sort - the walk to school this morning was lovely and crisp and we crunched through the leaves in the park. DH always uses cold tap water to de-ice the car windscreen, it works everytime.

Right, I've dusted and hoovered through, cleaned the bathroom, cleaned out the parrots cage and cleaned the kitchen cupboard fronts, put all the rubbish out and done 2 loads of washing. I'm now going for a coffee and a half hour of tv before cracking on with some ironing.

Hope you all have a lovely afternoon.
