OS Tuesday 11th December 2007

everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already.

Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier! When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well

Morning all!
I'm up early so thought I'd start! Had a busy day yesterday, painting scenery for "Jack and the Beanstalk" which has it's Dress rehearsal today. Then made "Santa's Grotto" for today's Christmas Fair!

Got the trees to do today. 18ft one in the school hall! I'm not putting the star on that!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:
Mum goes to hospital today to see if she can have her feeding tube fitted. I really hope so, otherwise I don't know if she'll be here for Christmas.

Well, got to get on...... (((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))))) to anyone who needs it today.

Have a great day all!!:T :T

Hi HILSTEP - thinking about you and your Mum. Hope she has the tube fitted. (((Hugs))) to you both.

Just a quick one from me at the moment - I have to wake DH up at 6am. I could not get to sleep until gone 2am and I know it's because my mind has gone into overtime about Christmas and all the other things I have to get done. I wish I knew how to switch off when I get into bed! In the end, I got up, wrote myself a list of the things that were on my mind, then went back to bed and conked out, so perhaps that's what I should do every night!

The service engineer from Sky is coming between 9 and 10 this morning - it will be nice to watch TV without all the ghosting, snow and double-imaging that we've had since the box packed up on Saturday.

Today I must get some more wrapping up done, and get the rest of the cards written out, post a book I've sold on Green Metropolis, sort out a chest of drawers that is full of stationery and sort out one of the desks in the office. The grandchildren keep raiding it so I thought I'd fill both the drawers with stuff just for them - they'll love that and it means they can just dig in when they visit.

Oops - look at the time - better get his cuppa ready!

    See you all later.

    Have a great day, everyone.

    Congratulations Mr & Mrs Pen-Pin.

Another insomniac - woke up at 4, got up at 5, was going back as it is cold here, but haven't gone yet:confused:. Was going to start the thread, but the drivel part of my brain hadn't woken up:rotfl: :rotfl:

    Jobs for today:
1 - Go see SIL & BIL with birthday card for SIL.
    2 - Write Christmas Cards
3 - Write Newsletter to go with the cards
4 - Start wrapping Christmas presents to make sure not forgotten any
    5 - Continue clearing paperwork
6 - [strike]Nag[/strike] Ask DH to emulsion side room ceiling
7 - Drink far too much coffee to keep me going through this.

    ((hugs)) to all.

Morning. Just trying to get things booked up for our holiday... Sea world tickets, and stuff.
I don't start work until 1pm today, so I have time this morning to get some things tidied up. we have some freinds staying in our house while we are away, so need to get it tidied up a bit.
Glad the wind and rain have gone... It was pretty miserable around here over the weekend.
Well can't stay long... Have a nice day

There is a lot of frost on the cars this morning, a neighbour was pouring kettles of boiling water over her windscreen, but I think I'll stick to scraping. If I tried the hot water trick the windscreen would shatter.
Hubby's son phoned yesterday, he & his gf are popping over on 28th December so I must turn my sewing room back into a bedroom for a while.
    Big hugs to Hilstep.
I did find out last night that the lodger expected to get a flat in the uk for £35 a month, so no wonder her financial plans have gone out the window!
    Have a good day all.
    Hugs Hester

Happy Anniversary Mr & Mrs PP

Lots of paperwork to do today, so will be in my office which is at least a lovely warm room. Have tesco shop coming 10-12. Need to check the Wii that arrived yesterday then hide it with the other kids stuff. Still waiting for a delivery then can start wrapping.

Pleased with myself as yesterday won a pair of hurricane lamps off of ebay which for both cost less than half price of the ones I wanted in John Lewis - want them for my dining table - will need to go and get some candles now.

OH will probably want me to go to Morrisons with him to pick up the Xmas Beer as we didnt get time yesterday.

    Burger and chips for tea.

Have a great day & hope everything goes ok for your Mum Hillstep.
