Morning all, and Happy Birthday to Round!
So far I have
- FUPA clean washing
- showered and dressed
- done a very quick S&S of the bathroom: I am planning to clean all through the house tomorrow
- put a couple of bits away in the kitchen that were left to drain overnight
- sorted out some garden items to go to the CS
- made a cuppa and eaten a banana to keep me going until DH emerges from his cocoon (not that he resembles a butterfly) and makes breakfast,
and am now waiting for the bank customer adviser to answer my call about how to fill in the new church account application: "You are moving forward in the queue and will be answered as soon as possible!" In the meantime I will check my own finances.
I need to go into town today and do various errands.
Catch up later, folks... Hope you all have a good day xx11 -

Morning all xx
Happy New Year xx It's birthday to me and so it makes sense to start my new year today. 1st January makes no sense to me at all. That's the middle of winter for goodness sake! And quite obviously January wasn't always the beginning as SEPTember is obviously the seventh month not the ninth - followed by OCT, NOV, DEC.....so New Year must have been 1st March at some point....which makes more sense, it being Spring and all that. And if whoever moved it to 1st January can move it, then so can I!
Now that's settled, I've also decided that I'm going to remain 60. 61 doesn't fit me at all. I like 60 - it doesn't have any straight lines.
And, no, I haven't started on my birthday cider a tad early...although I may have, accidentally of course, started the chocolates last night 😊
So this is the year when I lose six stones and the hovel becomes a haven. I'm actually quite surprised that it didn't happen overnight. Birthdays don't have the same magical qualities in real life as they do in my head. Has anyone else noticed this? Never mind. I have cards, and cider, and chocolates, and lots of other lovely things.
Flying today has so far been limited to making my bed, supping my first brew, opening cards and presents, and rinsing cans to be recycled.
Second brew and a slice of toast next. Then I'll get dressed. The man is coming this afternoon to check all the electrics - and DS and GF are coming for tea. This morning I will fly / flutter / flap ....new beginnings 😉
Thank you for being my friends.
Cheers 🥂

Happy Birthday Round, be whatever age you want. I often have to think when someone asks my age, my body is sadly older than my head thinks it is.
DD1 not working today so we are off into town to look at luggage and go to the vaccination centre to see if they need any more staff over the next few weeks before she starts 'work'.
Also need to go food shopping as DD1 saw a recipe last night she wants to try for us tomorrow and I need to get stuff for our picnic. And pop into the bank.
DW emptied and reloaded
Kitchen tidied

I'm taking 5 minutes to recuperate as I've been hoovering. Nothing like having a man coming to check the electrics to get me motivated....aka panic mode.
I've hoovered a ton of seed and feathers from behind Sweetie's cage. Emptied the hoover with the help of a friendly neighbourhood cat...we were both astonished to find that if I turn that red thing it comes out and makes it soooo much easier to empty the rest of the see through thing. Much easier than turning it upside-down and shaking 🙄
Couple of light bulb moments...it hasn't taken long to make things look better than they did. Not perfect by a looong way but better. Sorry spiders. It was the same when I took a couple of minutes to dust the bath. A few minutes and the worst was gone. Maybe there's something to this flying lark 😳 Did you hear the penny drop? Finally!
Everywhere I look there's dust and rammel...including the Flylady parrot. But that's downstairs- upstairs is much improved. It will come together eventually....won't it? And breathe...overwhelm is imminent. Coffee and chocolates are needed.
Then I'm going to empty the hoover...again, and evict the spiders in the kitchen. One step at a time- that's how marathons are won.

Breakfast scoffed. Rabbits hopping round garden having been confined to quarters while I was in the same county as Honey Bear, but at the opposite (top) end. Because I picked DD up en route it was a circuitous journey there, and a road closure meant a diversion through the Cotswolds - so that was interesting as I have never been (and I wasn't actulally too sure where they were). Very excited to watch my mpg improve - longest drive I have done for a good while - I had all the signs of a panic attack prior to going (partly why I kept schtum) which wasn't helped by the fact that I was solo for the first part of the journey. A lovely 5 days R&R though, and pleased to have got so much driving in. And I'm now getting +40mpg.
Back to work tomorrow though - two days INSET here; this will probably have ben advised by the LA with kids back in on Mondays in most schools.
I have now been forgiven for cat abandonement - she's on the desk purring and causing mayhemDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Round.. happy birthday precious friend.. 61 is definitely better than 21 I am sure.. I'm sure I will be thee before I know it! Have a glorious day!! Live your best life! xxx
4am I finally went to bed.. nail appointment at 11 so just having a cuppa and brushing my 3 hairs.. why has my hair got so incredibly thin and nasty the last few years?
Picking up a small double bed tomorrow.. an ottoman one for storage but 4ft so the 3 girls can all fit in and no one falls out.. honestly.. I swear they are puppies! They all sleep in a pile! I am hoping to stash a lot of floor gibble in it. I need bit of a toy cull I think.

Great flying, Round!
Glad you enjoyed your break, Valli.
The customer services lady at the new bank was extremely helpful and very patientNow I've just got to fill in 20-odd pages of mostly long-answer questions and get 20 people to sign in the right boxes.
I rang the SS opticians to check that I could just walk in to get the plastic nose pads on my specs changed (one has broken and it's quite painful), only to be told that they are still doing everything by appointment and they have no spaces today. I have booked in for 9.15 tomorrow and will leave all my town centre errands until then (I refuse to pay twice for parking), so I will fly through the house in what's left of this morning and then just drop off at the CS in the "village" and get milk from the corner shop.

Happy birthday Round.
Valli, I also had to do a lot of long drives recently but glad I did because my confidence has come back. Glad you had a good time.
Today I have done dailies, hoovered through and done first work shift. Twice I have tried to walk the dogs but they don't want to go out.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
Jazee - I took Mum down to my sister's the other week - longest drive I have done for a while. TBH even going to Ikea in the City was a bit nerve-wracking after a year and a half of staying local - and, during lockdown, quiet roads.
Just cleaned the car, because it was perfectly evident I had been near the coast IYSWIMDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
