Paypal cant do didly squat to recover this money without a court order. Just ignore them unless they actually file a case.

If they wish to turn up in your preferred county court to discuss it further, then I cant see they have a chance of success much above zero versus massive cost to them that they cannot recover.

Heck this is enough to put people off Paypal for life.

    NEVER EVR USE PAYPAL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The good thing is that it DOESN'T detract from selling, had my best weekend on ebay last weekend (no paypal-no fees- no risk of having my money stolen).

same here, I actually browse with the option 'paypal accepted' so wouldn't even see a non paypal auction. I certainly wouldn't ever buy without it.

I can only go by experience, i've had no problems selling, saving on hassle and and the expensive PP fees, best move i've made. I can now sell more cheaply and without the worry of being scammed or my account being messed around with.

Whilst I hate PP with a passion for its lack of any teeth in offering protection, we have found we have to take it as buyers want it (me as a buyer included).

Plus, we have found that the increase in auction values from offering PP are greater than the cost of taking it.

You are lucky if you have found otherwise.

You might want to sign this petition:
    http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/PaypalRegulation/

It's asking Paypal to be regulated by UK banking laws, which it should, especially as it deals with your money.
    Have a nice day. :)
  • Just added my sig. to the petition.
