    I’m looking to switch my virgin money account into my existing flex account. I have set up 2 charity DDs yesterday. Is it worth requesting the switch now incase they pull the offer
    Like you I set up my direct debits and then did the Switch. It never caused an issue that no payments had not be claimed from these debits. As long as they are active at time of switch then you will have no issues. I received my bonus yesterday.

    "Hi there , thanks for the DM. If you have brand new direct debits set up, please contact your current bank provider, to check to see if they are already set up on the account you're looking to switch to us- just as long as they're showing on the account as a direct debit, when the switch completes, then they will count as 'active' direct debits'. Thanks,

    It may be worth requesting the switch now but to start in say 2/3 weeks (or end in 3 or 4  weeks) and you've secured inclusion.

    You can revise the date forward* when the DDs show/pay (your choice) in your switcher, or back (but remember the 30 day rule) if you need to take alternate action.

  • Apologies if this question has been answered. If so, could somebody direct me to the appropriate page for the answer as I haven't seen anything in the pages I've read or in the Nationwide Ts & Cs. The question is for how long you have to keep your 2 direct debits with Nationwide after your switch as I may prefer to use them on other accounts in the future.
  • Once you have received the switch bonus you can cancel the direct debits.  You can even close/switch the nationwide account if you want.

    I've been promised my £125 by live chat early next week after the 10 working day deadline was missed. It seems like the majority on this thread have been successful in getting their bonus, but one or two where something has gone awry.
  • Switch completed yesterday; £125 in my account, this afternoon.

    I've got my bonus paid this afternoon, but it's £25 short despite previous assurances.

    That’s good I’m not sure with Virgin Money if the DD will show in my account before it’s claimed.

    Here too - sole acct in to a joint acct, with bonuses already paid on sole switches.  Lovely job!

    Mrs Creditavenger and myself completed 4 account switches between us in the past couple of days.

    2 individual sole accounts were switched into 2 new individual NWide sole accounts.

    Also we each cheekily tried switching a joint account (so 2 in total) into 1 existing  NWide joint account, thinking this may result in two payments.

    In total we have received 3 switching payments;
    2 x £100 for the sole account switches - so each £25 short;
    and 1 x £125 payment for the joint account switches - which is correct.

    Have the other MSErs who received payments that were £25 short switched into new accounts rather than existing ones? Maybe the NW systems incorrectly assume non-membership for new account switchers?

    I'll be chasing up the payment shortfall tomorrow and report back.

    Pretty happy with the free money though overall.
