How do you know if your direct debit is "active" with Starling Bank? They both say "not yet billed" but also say they have been set up.0

Great news! Completed yesterday and credit today £125.00

No payment needs to be taken only that they remain active. I had no payments taken from newly set up direct debits but I still met the criteria.pearl123 said:Can someone clarify if direct debits need to be active or just set up?
I rushed to set up more direct debits, but they haven't come out on the days specified yet. I do have somehow two direct debits, which have somehow been set up by plusnet. Both have come out at one point. Will that be enough?6 -
A direct debit that has been set up is by default active. It only becomes inactive if it hasn't been collected for 13 months.pearl123 said:Can someone clarify if direct debits need to be active or just set up?

So will mine with Starling count? They say "not yet billed" which when tapped on says "This direct debit has been set up, but we haven't received a payment request yet from xxx".The_Green_Hornet said:

Starling says it has been set up. A direct debit that has been set up is by default active... doesn't that answer your question?Lightning360 said:

Different terminology might not mean the same thing and I'd rather be 100% sure considering being wrong could mean I don't get the £125.masonic said:

I got £100 and when queried in branch, they mentioned something about 'the algorithm'. Said the missing £25 will be credited within a week.0

There is no way to be 100% sure. The closest you can get is to wait until they've both paid before initiating the switch. Not necessary IMHO, but if it's that important to you.Lightning360 said:

I’m looking to switch my virgin money account into my existing flex account. I have set up 2 charity DDs yesterday. Is it worth requesting the switch now incase they pull the offer0
