New Nationwide Switch - both new and existing?

  • Apologies if this seems like a silly question.

I have an existing Nationwide flex plus current account - if I switch another current account into that to take advantage of this offer I assume I won't get a hard credit search by Nationwide (as the flexplus is already open and in use anyway)?

You would only get a credit search if opening a new account or adding/changing a credit facility (such as an overdraft) on an existing account.
  • My switch completed yesterday (1st September).

Has anyone been paid out their switch bonus yet ? - If so, how long after the switch completes is the bonus generally paid ?

    Thanks in advance

I got a text to say "you met the conditions, and the money will be paid within 24 hours."

It was already in my account when I got the text......

I have just checked my DD's and I have one leaving on the 1st September and two leaving on the 6th September. However the start of the switch is on the 6th. I thought the 2nd direct debits were on the 4th. Not sure now if I should shift the date now to 7th September to start the process.
The 4th is a Saturday, so it should come as no surprise they will pay out on the next working day. I don't understand why you are considering making changes to the switch as a result of this.
I have now changed the pending date to start switch on the 7 September and completes now on the 15th. I originally applied to switch on the 19 August so this is still within the 30 days.
    UPDATE

After checking my direct debits again I discovered one would be paid on the 2nd September and as already said the first one on the 1st September. So I initiated the Switch on the 31 August. I have about 5 on the active list.

I didn't get a text, or email saying the (first of 3) switch completed - but it did complete on 31/08. The £125 bonus wasn't in the ac yesterday, but it is today. :)
  • Attempted to open new joint Flex account, already a customer, but it gets stuck after adding second applicant and asking to review details. No obvious errors. Tried on app and same result.
  • Applied and requested switch to brand new flex direct account on 19th August. Read all the Ts&Cs, my account which be switched from Halifax had two direct debits. Home Insurance and Bank loan(Lloyds). Received Text on 20th August explaining my switch is in progress and will receive a text to state if I am eligible for the switching offer when the account has opened and switch into. 31st August Switch complete. Received a text today saying I am not eligible for the switching offer. Phoned nationwide customer service, the agent explained there is nothing showing why I am not eligible for the switching offer. All the agent could do is lodge a complaint and it will get investigated. Sounds like some jiggery pokery to me.
  • On my donor current account I have set up 2 DD`s (2 different amounts on 2 different dates in same month) to a newly opened Post Office online saver 51. NW T&C`s states 2 active DD`s. Nothing about to 2 different DD`s. I seem to remember this query before on MSE. Will this qualify?
