Dizzy_Imp said:Hello flyladies - long-lost Dizzy returns after months of what feels like utter hell.
Long story short...mum got cancer and has recently died, we've been flooded again (albeit to a lesser degree than the first time) my dog died, my Billy Goat died, fallen out with the neighbours and had the police involved, closed my dog boarding business, had a mini breakdown, had a friend help me put things back together, adopted a stray cat and now have three kittens, had a surprise baby kid (off-spring of deceased Billy) appear in the paddock one morning and much more....
I need some sanity in my life and to be honest, you lot always keep me grounded...can I come back please?
OMG dizzy I thought my life was tough atm, you are so welcome back, hugs xx

Yaaaayyyyy!!! Dizzy's back!!! Welcome home, lovely! Enormous (((hugs))) and condolences coming your way. We can't promise you sanity here, but yes, we can do grounding. We're all a bit older now, possibly wiser, and certainly in better shape than we would be without the lists.
Talking of which - I have just looked out of the window and it has suddenly started to rain on my nearly-dry washingI had hung out the dressing gowns and a load of towels, and was just about to add DH's jeans and start another load in the WM. Where does it all come from?
Apart from doing washing, today I have
- tidied my bedroom and made my bed
- tidied DH's bedroom and made his bed
- cleaned the bathroom
- filed some paperwork
- written emails and sent another e-birthday card (I've given up on FB greetings)
- ordered my repeat meds
- mown the lawn
- emptied some dead plants out of four large patio pots
- swept the decking
- moved some of the potted tomato plants into spaces around the decking where they will get more sun
- put away in the garden storage cupboard the wooden stakes from the churchyard trail that were cluttering up the back porch - I must have walked past them at least 6 times every day since I brought them home, ten days ago
- heated leftovers for a very tasty lunch
- collapsed for a couple of hours (I shall still be exhausted by bedtime).
Now that the silly shower is over, I must take Rosie for her walk. I am hoping that DS1 will come this evening to fix up the wooden battens which he has cut to size and painted at his house (but the showers have meant that the paint is drying only very slowly) - rather than leave it until tomorrow when the roller blind fitter is due at 11.00
(((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round, as needed xxx

Falling over myself to get through the door and wave to Dizzy xx Welcome back my lovely. Oh my, snuggle in with the rest of us and avail yourself of the never ending supply of flylady support. Much love heading over the ether ❤
I've been to work. That's it for this week. Tired but had a good day. During the adverts last night I emptied the bins and put out the rubbish and the recycling. Fed the birds this morning. Called at the Post Office on my way home and paid the rent and withdrew cash to pay the window cleaner. So I feel like I'm getting back into the groove.
Have a good evening all.

Evening all. Welcome back Dizzy.
No flying today. I've been on the road for eight hours taking visitors home. Have ordered a rare takeaway for supper and intend to do nothing for the rest of the day.Spend less now, work less later.11 -
Shove up everyone and someone stick the kettle on, Dizzys here! Missed you my love. I think about you whenever we get a lot of rain, admittedly that does sounds a bit weird. Sorry that life has been so rough, let hope that things improve massively from now on.
Chicken pie made for tea, made my own pastry. Trying to use up what we have already before shopping again. DHs van MOT cost £730, my car MOT and service was £600 last week. Ah well its only money!
Only 5 hours to do at the paid stuff tomorrow, need to fly a bit tomorrow. Feet up now.9 -
Can I have a seat on the stairs too to welcome Dizzy back too please? I have some shortbread fingers I can share if we are all open to bribery…
Drum roll….yes, the kitchen floor got mopped. Twice. Eek. Bathrooms s&s’d. Downstairs dusted and vacuumed, plus our bedroom as my hair was everywhere. Washing rescued from the rain à la Ionafan.Dinner cooked, kitchen tidied. Cba to do yet more ironing now.9 -
YL.. please don't.. our brum is in for MOT tomorrow.. it was £1200 last year and I am dreading it!!

Oh Dizzy you have been through it - but (as was said MANY years ago) this is the Hotel California - you can check out but you can't leave. Some flyladies are here in our hearts but here they are...
Thanks for the paint responses... I think satin will be the way to go. Now - given it is varnished
Do I need to sand it?
Do i need to undercoat it?
One of my other Toots list items to deal with is the bathroom mirror - I have looked at spraying the edges where the silvering is coming away (at the back) so I thought spraying the front would hide it but it's from the Swedish store and it occurs to me that they *may* still sell them...and I have checked, and they do. I'm going to work on Monday so i could 'pop' down there after work (I am halfway to Ikea then). I just have to double check the size (I have found the approx. size by using A4 paper - hardly accurate).
I have cleaned my bedroom.

Thank you Honey Bear9 -
Thanks ladies - you're all so lovely and I've missed you so much!
I knew coming home would make me feel better
I will have lots of catching up to do, so please bear with me while I process all the news...I've got DSS and GF here this week, keeping an eye on me as I'm not very strong mentally or physically ATM, but I'll get back on my feet soon, pinky promise.11
