The forum is what the forum is ... it may get tweaked around the edges but the root and branch changes needed won't happen until/unless MSE decide to revise the forum again. (And given this new forum has been in place less than a year this is very unlikely to happen any time soon).

I'm glad it isn't just me who finds the new search function absolutely awful - at first I thought I was just being a Neanderthal but seeing the experts are commenting also is in a strange way rewarding  :)

(at least the emojis still work!)
Some tips for searching (I did this a lot before I posted my first thread!):

    1. Use quotes - just like you would on Google, if you want to match an exact phrase or term "stick it in quotes"
    2. Use the drop down to filter to "newest" posts for more relevant content
    3. Click Discussions to only search the forums
    4. Once you've clicked Discussions extra filter options appear on the right to choose which forum you want to focus on (type in it, don't click on it - clicking it shows the limited number of 'mega forums')

Hopefully you'll then find what you're looking for :#

Mse has a feedback forum too , these issues have been highlighted many times , including missing post numbers and search issues etc , ( over the last 20 months or more , the Change came in just before the pandemic )

Very good info - thanks. I guess the main complaint is that 1) if you're searching whilst in the Parking board then it should default to that board, and 2) it should default to Newest anyway ... Best Match has never yielded a robust set of results anywhere (except maybe Google). :)

I agree, it should default to the place your search originated from (or make it easier and let users specify the forum they want to search in the search box) and I've never been a fan of "best match" searches anywhere - at best it's machine learning, at worst it's an advertising tool (such as with Google  :D )

An educated guess is the search/forum functionality is restricted to whatever the software MSE uses provides and we're stuck with it for a while :#
  • I’ve had a response - not from the CEO, or his PA, or anyone on his team I would assume but customer service!!! See below

    Good afternoon ****

    Thanks for contacting David

I am sorry to hear that you have received a parking charge when shopping with us.

So I can look into this for you, Can you please add a copy of the letter you received and your receipts from shopping in the store.

If you do not have a receipt then please add a photo of your bank statement showing the transaction

Once we have received this information we can look into the charge for you.

    Kind regards

Unfortunately I can’t provide what they need - I don’t have a receipt from that day and may have popped in for lunch but would have paid cash :(

I feel this might be the end of the road. I do have their original letters though, in fact all of them as I kept them.

Bad reviews on social media, Trust Pilot, etc  may focus their minds.

Then provide the PCN etc and state the above , plus if you use a loyalty card or have proof of patronage on other days or weeks give them those too. If you know what was purchased on the day , say so , even if it's details of the lunch and where you were sat !  , Or petrol etc !   Appear genuine and you never know ( not everyone uses a card , although these days it's better because it's an easier paper trail )

From now on , think about your daily actions , pay by card , keep receipts for several months , get a dashcam , be able to prove transactions and movements , keep complaining and use waffle in your complaint , but ALWAYS appear to be a genuine person

Tell customer service about your loyalty but how you cannot afford to shop there if a visit comes with an extra £100 charge !!  Other supermarket chains are available

People have had Morrisons cancel PCNs with no receipt.  Best if you can show from bank statements that you and your household are regular customers of Ms from bank statements but Ms have cancelled anyway as a gesture of goodwill for customers.
