Sistergold said:Hello @LadyWithAPlan, just catching up with you this morning. 🌅 enjoyed the living with diabetes talk especially and I always find your health editions motivating! 🥰. I also need to lose some kilos. Think the rapid weight loss will be a good motivator as I will see the results quickly. You are right most of us can feel when we exceed our fat set point, it’s such a fine line. Science behind it all is very interesting. Will be with you on this weight loss journey.
I said no to after dinner dessert/snacks and a glass of red with dinner last night. As Prof Taylor says rapid weight loss needs to be organised around family/social events etc, you need to make a decision where to start as on/off is harder so this weekend is difficult with me plus after next week its a 2 week work jolly with a lot of free champagne ... however even eating dinner last night I chose to have less carby stuff (only one small jacket potato not 2) and more greens. My parents cook v well but large tasty portions and high cal things I dont have in the house ...
Plus before I do the big push of weight loss next week, I am adjusting my food intake on my plate down, no snacks - I can't justify the extra pounds any more/ just a little 'treat', that book has really kicked me into a mental reframe and its allowing me to make better health decisions each day. Had a lovely walk in the sunshine with my mum first thing.
PREMIUM BONDS £100 May win - have taken £6.5k out this year (added into Isa/SIPP/ some cash)- now got £10k in there and have 'won' more this year £375 so far v all of last year 'winnings' £325
Chip isa offer £25 free - I had an in-app invite (have a cash isa with them and it was 'invest £100 into a S&S ISA and I'd get £25 free' - can choose cash or giftcard) - either way got confirm of that today that it will be paid 30/5/2025 - will take as cash and add to SIPP or ISA
Monthly Interest earned in April/Paid May 1st
£23.60 on my H2B isa - but on nearly £13k its not great - 2.x % but its a help to buy closed isa so
£2.38 Mnzo cash acct
£9.67 on another ISA
Chip cash - waiting til Monday for payment but last month was £4.54
Some other bits to come

No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... hope all had a lovely Bk holiday weekend.
I have just been in the countryside for the long weekend with various family members - all with gorgeous looking gardens but many hours are spent in the upkeep! I spent lots of time in the kitchen making bday food, including two cakes I have never tried - of the DF/GF kind.
My first sticky toffee pudding was such a hit I have now been 'booked' by DN2 to bake it for his birthday party as he declared it 'restaurant chef' quality (he is 10). It was very good I will admit and much better than the other quick bake. I loved cooking with black treacle and dates (reminded me of my nan!) but now I need a couple days of sweet treats rest.
@Sistergold I have never tried such supplements but am tempted to, to make life easy!
back home and about to run a huge to do list for the next 5 days before my trip away
Bought a Vinted dress from same designer I love - bargain £20 and a matching shoe /bag set £23 - they look from pics unworn - super bright pattern so should replace a pair that died recently

I'm convinced (having read parts of the book online) that i need to lose 6 to 10 kg. Probably nearer the 6 than the 10 so lets call it 8. I've started being more intentional especially as i have noticed my mental health struggles if i do not eat lots of veggies.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!3 -

Will retry it to see
on the tst though now a few weeks (female one) and I do feel much better - also didn’t have the crazy allergic reaction to the cats this weekend - which I had when I was on testogel the male tstSuffolk_lass said:ladysummerisle said:Okay, I’m convinced.
