also try putting a sim in first that it wont work on then enter the code
Thanks, it ended up that #7 and #1 didn't work...#5 was the charm.
But what really made it work was putting in a SIM that it was restricted on. Without it, it did nothing when entering the codes. With it, I got two "Code Errors" on #7 and #1 before getting the "Restriction Off" on #5 in the generated list finally worked.
Thanks again,

Hi guys - excellent work you're all doing. I looked at the calculator pages, but didn't want to mess this up and have to do it by cable. I'm trying to unlock a nokia3220b. Any help would be appreciated.

Help
hubby has a Nokia 6600 which he has had on an Orange contract for 14 months, he has cancelled the contract and wishes to use the phone with an O2 contract Sim card, only the nokia won't accept it,
I tried following instructions in the 1st post, the +7 code wouldn't work but the +1 code seemed to, until he tried the O2 card again and it still won't workI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. thanks so much
hubby was about to say yes to Orange today when they told him the only way to unlock an Orange phone was to pay them £20, managed to snatch the phone from him and scream MSE
the orange logo still comes up but that's not a great problem and I think with the help of Edilass I've managed to set up the O2 wap settings
do I need to delete all the orange settings ?I am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. you can delete all the settings you dont need anymore.
you need to reflash the phone to get rid of the startup logo so i wouldnt bother unless it really bugs you as it would cost about £10.
wish i got £20 for every orange phone i unlocked
you can also format the phone to return everything to how it left the factory
1. Make sure you have at least 3/4 charge of battery power left.
2. Backup your contacts list and personal files to MMC memory card.
3. Switch-off your 6600 phone.
4. Press and hold 3 keys; Green dial key, * Star key, no. 3 key on keypad and then press the power on/off to swtich on the 6600 phone.
Remember, do not let go the 3 press and hold keys until you see a formatting word screen show!
5. After a few minutes when the Full phone formatting completed
remember you will lose all your settings as well as anything youve installed0 -
