Have you got gas appliances and have they been serviced recently?

Yes we do and I do worry that they need looking at. I sometimes feel like this house is making us sick.

Mum has a pain in her leg. I checked her oxygen levels and blood pressure this morning. Both fine. I went and got hay and pills. And sausage rolls for lunch.

I have had a nap and feel slightly better. I am cooking some ribs in the oven and have made my own special fried rice. I am going to have bananas and cream (or yogurt) for dessert.

Today has been rubbish. Next time I feel that rough I will just go back to bed. XX

  • @Buffythedebtslayer You need to get your gas appliances checked/serviced every year. It's the law. Sorry to sound so stern about it but the consequences of not having it done could be fatal. Surely your mother must have had it done regularly in the past?

Also think you really need the gas services done.  I know it's tempting to put them off but the requirements for renting are there for a reason - landlords try hard to get out of having any - and you shouldn't be at more risk than if you were renting.
If you need an extra reason, it will help make them efficient and keep costs down for the energy price rises.

A house just up the road from me, two young students lost their lives to carbon monoxide poisoning, this was the boiler in rented accommodation. The landlord was jailed for manslaughter.

Cherry fudge on her diary has been feeling a bit off and thinks she might have had low grade carbon monoxide poisoning. Her monitor alarm went off thankfully so she had her boiler checked.

Get that boiler checked Buffster xx

I had an alarm go off a couple of years ago and the gas company had an engineer on the doorstep in about twenty minutes.  Even though it was 2am in full lockdown.  They take it seriously.
Fortunately for me - and the moggies (it can affect animals too) - it was a faulty alarm that time.

  • We have an alarm, by the boiler. Mum says they have been checked...............I will pursue when in half term. But thank you, I didn't know they needed checking so will make sure they are.

I genuinely think it is because for me it is because the house is so hot (23 degrees) Poor Mum is always cold.

I have had a rotten day feeling rotten. Mainly period related I think but also the absolute exhaustion of not enough sleep this week and I wonder if I have some kind of illness, dizzy spells at work plus the headaches and tiredness. Really hard to know what is going on to be honest. Is it just post covid stuff?  mum is having an awful time too, her hands look terrible and she is very tired. I suggested we both go to the doctors. I don't actually want to go as am afraid they will sign me off. But maybe I should.

Didn't even come close to making a roast, had beans and poached egg on toast. done 1995 steps all day. At this point I am not going to work tomorrow. Bummer as it means missing my second job too.

    Will have to see...
