I don’t have experience Buffy but the AgeUK website doesn’t make it sound like it’s that all or nothing:Am I a carer?
Being a carer means different things to different people, and you might not consider yourself a carer. Maybe you pop to the shops for someone you know or you help someone with household tasks. But however you provide support - whether you're paid or not - then you're a carer.
It sounds like you urgently need a “Care Needs Assessment” - your mum refused to eat when you weren’t there, she does need care.
You’re doing so well xx

So sorry it is like this Buffy. Definitely agree with the others, look into registering and see what help you can get. x3

Don't hold your breath for carers allowance as you can't claim it unless you work less then 20 hours a week however does your mum claim PIP?
We have carers twice a day and particulary the morning one , we couldn't do without - shes does mums personal care and medication and just takes the pressure off. They aren't allowed to do housework but can make snacks etc , it may help when you get back to work to have someone coming in whilst you are out. i know you get 6 weeks costs covered if you are discharged from hospital and ours is covered by our social care team as mum is life limited but its something that may help you.
Not sure on mums financial situation as to whether you would get funding or indeed how receptive she would be to them coming in the first place.
Completely understand how difficult it is to live with someone who is depressed and doesn't care much for their surroundings , my mum was the same before she got sick and it took me a while to recognise that her moods would wear me down and affect my general well being too , its tough ..............its tough when someone doesn't care about their surroundings. I'm the complete opposite to my mum and like clean lines and a home for everything , I don't like clutter or mess , I can't leave the kitchen with lunch debris on the work tops , its incredibly frustrating when you share a habitat with people cut from different cloth4 -
It would not be PIP Buffy but attendence allowance for your mum.
If you get the form for your mum I can help you fill it in.

Still, tidied up down here, dishwasher empty, dryer on.
Expecting the distract nurse today.
Will write more later XXNevertheless she persisted.2 -

It could be ok. Sounds terrible but I am hoping post dentist Mum goes to bed and I can crack on with some more. I doubt she will tho. She would rather stubbornly sit here in pain.
Any how I am pleased. Just need the car back from the mechanics to be able to take all my donations.
