I have seen that MP's are getting very confused and contacting the Secretary of State for Transport about the tech consultation ?
Here is another one from Mrs May. I have replied stating the matter is in the hands of the MHCLG  which is a different Secretary of State    ???

Thank you for taking the time to contact Mrs. May concerning Parking Codes of Practice. I hope you have been keeping well.

Mrs. May has read your email with interest and taken note of the points you have raised in your correspondence.

This is just a quick email to say that Mrs. May has raised this matter with the Secretary of State for Transport on your behalf and I will be back in touch as soon as Mrs. May has received a reply.

This confusion is very worrying so it must be made clear who your MP should contact .... and that is the Secretary of State for MHCLG

    Good point.
It is sad that MPs or their minions don't know who does what in government.

I made sure I mentioned the MHCLG, Robert Jenrick MP, and Sir Gregg Knight MP in my complaint to my MP.
I married my cousin. I had to...
    I don't have a sister. :D

I didn't mention Robert Jenrick, but I did mention MHCLG twice. 🙄

I ended my email to my MP as:-

I hope that you are able to help me in this matter as you have on several other occasions in the past, (for which I am very grateful). As the Consultation closes 27th August, I would be grateful if the MHCLG, and others who you regard as appropriate (the Minister in charge, Mr Robert Jenrick perhaps?), can be contacted before this.

So hopefully my MP will contact the correct dept.

And another thing to point out is ....

At the end of 2020 there were 31,695,988 cars licensed in Great Britain.  The vast majority will be voters

31,695,988 far out numbers the private parking industry

However, I think this is getting through and that voters really do matter. Let's face it, private parking companies alone will never elect an MP

My MP has emailed me to say he has forwarded my comments to Robert Jenrick and asked him for his comments.
It will now be very interesting to see what Robert Jenrick says to all the MP's

Some of the Cornish car parks need to go on a hotspot list. There are likely to be a lot of claims during this holiday season as there will be an influx of new visitors who are pehaps unfamiliar with the area.

It seems pointless having car parks where there is payment by app when drivers cannot get a signal.

These parking incidents often happen when in places that are unfamilar. I have had four in total and paid one. Two were cancelled (council car parks), one was on street and paid and the Excel case which went all the way. The one I paid was in Scarborough.

I imagine the operator knows that

A very valid point and also to add for those writing to their MP
