I tried using the white spirit before buying anything and it is magic! Poured a little in the lid, left it for 5 minutes and the sticker pretty much peeled right off.

    Hopefully this solves the problem!

Baby oil or as someone else suggested, the wonderful WD40. No home should be without it.

I recently wrote to John Lewis asking for fabric for patchwork quilting.

Very kindly they delivered to me, a sack load of lovely good quality fabric, all old samples on hangers, large size pieces BUT they have the sticky labels for reference on them.
There is so much that I dont really want to wash all the pieces before using them.
Is there another way to remove the stickies without doing that?

If I pull and tug for about 10mins I can get the label off but as I say there are just far to many and my hands are not great (carpal tunnel) so am looking for a quick option if possible?
    Thanks

I would try ironing the reverse side to loosen the glue.

would just wetting it with a spray bottle and leaving them for few mins just loosen them off a bit, it could just be a case of removing as and when you need them or ask someone to help you

    Hi Lilac lillie:hello:

I've merged your thread with the other about removing sticky labels, so do have a read through and see if you can get other suggestions

Good luck - do report back :D

    Thanks:)

  • I used some double-sided sticky tape to stick some stuff to the window. Now I can't remove the remaining tape. I've tried window cleaner, vinegar, white spirit and nail varnish remover (the latter was the most successful, but only just). I've tried scraping at it but without much effect.

Has anyone got any suggestions on how to remove it?

WD-40 (or similar) got my Glastonbury parking ticket off my windscreen! Just spray on and wait for a short while then rub off.

Try baby oil - I find it sometimes works for things. You'll need to clean the window again afterwards though!!
