Hiya,
The first Winter we were in this house, we sealed up the sash windows with that stuff you stick on with a hairdryer - plastic sheeting with sticky plastic ... we've since removed the sheeting, but it has left a sticky residue on all of the painted window frames.
Any ideas on how to remove this adhesive without having to sand the windows down and repaint them!!!
All advice gratefully received.

Try eucalyptus oil. It's very good for getting sticky residue off of a wide range of things.'Everyone loves to read but it can be a real nuisance when you lose your place. Here's a solution. Or baby oil...anything oily will hopefully lift the adhesive.0

Hi'ya,
Has anyone got an idea of an easy way of cleaning sticky adhesive from bottles or jars after the label has been soaked off.
Some cleans off easily in hot, soapy water, however others are quite stubon and I'm searching for help in getting the adhesive off.
Many thanks

I bought a product from Lakeland called, funnily enough,Sticky Stuff remover.
I have found it very good for removing labels off all sorts of things.0 -
Vaseline will work too, you just need to leave it on for a couple of hours to soak in.0

Lighter fluid is brilliant. I used to use it to remove sticky labels from videos when I worked in a video shop many, many years ago.
But you might want to rinse the residue off afterwards, just to be on the safe side. That's Numberwang!0 -
I use nail varnish remover, not very OS though!I like cooking with wine......sometimes I even put it in the food!0
