try blowing a hairdryer onto it, the glue should soften and then you should be able to scrap it off.

I'm sure all the above work but I thinnk the very best is a bottle of 'Sticky Stuff remover' from dear old Lakeland. Lasts for ever and ever and even smells pleasant.

All the stickers and sticky labels I have ever met have had the glues shifted by white spirits for the majority or meths for a few others. Meths doesn't touch quite a few, but IPA will probably sort any that meths will sort.

Scrape it off? But not how I did once; take glass out of photo frame, hold in one hand while scraping with scraper, slip and slice large chunk out of finger on edge of glass, bleed for 2 hours before giving up and having MIL drive you to A&E - and on New Years Eve as well!

If the glue is so hardened that it can't be rubbed off, the best bet it acetone nail varnish remover, or just plain acetone (it is used to melt nail enhancements off).

best thing to do is use adhesive tape to remove the previous adhesive, for example:

if you have a label that peels off intact, but leaves residue (lush cosmetics, if you're reusing the tubs, or waitrose method pump sprays for example) - use the label itself to dab the residue off - it's always best to do this before you wash the thing, or apply other chemicals

the alternative is using sellotape, parcel tape or gaffa tape to remove the residue - wrap a heap of the stuff around two or three fingers (sticky side out obviously) - and work the sellotape in a rolling action against the remaining residue

Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?

Eucalyptus oil. Works every time. A couple of drops on a rag, rub over sticky stuff to soften it, keep rubbing and it will come off. (It's good for blocked noses too!)

    Evenin all :hello:

Hope this is in the right forum - if not could a mod please be so kind as to move it to the best one.

So hoping someone can help - bought a new cooker and it arrived with the energy rating and info stickers still on the glass of the doors and just to make it all the more annoying they had put a plastic bag type document holder on there as well with the delivery note :mad:.

Now all three of these are **not** of the easy peel variety and indeed are very, very stubborn - I have only pulled them a small way but already it is clear there is going to be quite a mess left behind.

Anyone any ideas as to the best way of removing these and the tackiness that will doubtless be left behind ?

    Thanks in advance to all

I had this with mine too. Isn't it annoying???

I got mine off with sticky stuff remover and a lot of elbow grease.

Not very OS but it worked.

Plenty of White Spirit on a cloth or paper towel will get this off with no effort.

Just rip the label off and wipe the residue off with white spirit.

    It won't damage the surface.
