Morning all
A stressful day at work yesterday, so the only flying was the usual dinner cooking / clearing away and HHI.I wrote myself a list a couple of days ago, and have managed to ignore it so far. Lots of admin type things on it, apart from the fact that the house is a mess with cobwebs in places you wouldn’t think of. The past year+ of DH wfh full time plus me not being switched on for this year is taking its toll.
So today, I need to:
strip bed and wash bedding - now in wm, hopefully it will blow about outside to dry
dust bedroom
clean ensuite, bathroom and downstairs toilet
ideally unearth the vacuum cleaner and dance it around.
I am on driving practice duty later this morning, so that’s a good couple of hours out of my schedule. And I really must cook something off the meal plan tonight, rather than grab fish fingers from the freezer. Again.
Hugs xx10 -
And a bit of good news for those that haven't seen my post of FB..
I got this on Tuesday at SW, am chuffed as I've been on SW since March if this year and have been losing 1lb a week, including a couple of blips 🙂

Hi friends,
The first few days of the school holidays have been as busy as I expected. The spa was wonderful, only downside being since I returned the soles of my feet and red, hot and itchy - all I can think is that I have caught some sort of infection from the floors around the pool etc, or had a reaction. They burn so much they keep me awake at night.
DS is at sports club and DD is with grandma, so I have a few hours at home alone. The DW is on, washing is over the airer and I have just decluttered a bacon and egg butty.
Kaz - thinking of you and your OH xx
Natty - well done! xx
Fayolle - I agree, you sound wiped out and fed up. I wonder, could you treat yourself to a cleaner for a while to help you get on top of those jobs that tend to get neglected? xxx
Right, cuppa and book xx10 -
Well done Natty
Hugs for Fayolle
Washing on line but I am keeping an eye out as it's clouded over.
Done a work job in colloboration with HT who needed to approve a form design. It needed a tweak (but don't they always) but it's done now and ready for use in September; that will go down like a lead balloon. But all the information need for the form would be needed anyway to complete an online form so could be copied and pasted.
I MUST finish DR today. I also need to go and get some chicken/fish to have with rice for lunch and tea for I am now fibre-free until tomorrow when I will have to starve. Ho hum.

Thank you Honey Bear10 -
Thank you for the hugs. I didn’t mean to sound so exhausted with life, but you are probably right, as ever.
Driving practice done.
Washing twirling so fast on the thingumy jig that it might end up in HB’s garden at this rate. I actually have no idea of the wind direction, I might be generous and share the washing amongst you all 😘Bathrooms done. All of them, even the grotty grout in the ensuite. Big tick.
Duster flicked. Vacuum cleaner run around upstairs.
DD has just made some rather yummy lemon buns. I won’t be joining the slinky brigade any time soon as she has just given me one to eat warm. Nom nom. The cost of said bun is that I get to clear up the kitchen. It’s not too bad, and I also need to empty the dw at the same time.
DH bought another tin of paint yesterday, so I need to add Paint Last Wall to the list.
Well done, Natty x
Kaz, thinking of you and OH. Day 1 crossed off x8 -
I have listed a couple of things for free on FB, which are being collected today. Ferrrllinnnngg.
Collected a very worn out DS from sports camp, unloaded the DW but really CBA tackling the rest of the kitchen. It feels quite autumnal here today, which I like, it makes me want to light candles and cosy up x10 -
ASB I didnt want to admit it because I sound miserable but I am done with hot sunny weather. It was heaven this morning to put a jacket on to go to work.
Well done Natty, so much admiration for you.
Funny day. Went for a little jog first thing, then dropped the car off at the garage for MOT and service and got a lift to the paid stuff (then a site meeting with a contractor where I was completely out of my depth). Queued for 15 minutes to get into the bank to pay a cheque in then decided I would walk to the industrial estate to get the car, it was further than I thought on foot and my feet hurt now.
Teatowels on a boil wash and out on the line, kitchen and bathroom swished but I will catch up with the paid stuff at the weekend. Feet up and a brew now.8 -
(((Hugs))) ASB, Fayolle and Kazwookie.Well done, Natty.Did the Foodbank thing this morning, did the food shopping, made a salmon thing for tonight and tomorrow's lunch with friends, and I haven't even got the energy to clear up the kitchen. Also opened a bank account online with my bank for Belovéd because his bank seems to be so overwhelmed by the number of phone calls that it has expected him to wait for 20 minutes plus each time he phones them - for over a week. Something is very, very wrong with First Direct; he's been with them for over 30 years and his phone calls have always been answered within two or three rings even at the height of the pandemic. The brownies looked like a complete disaster while they were cooking but their taste and texture is beyond wonderful. I think I know what went wrong and when this batch has been scoffed, which won't take long because they are the dog's cojones, I will be making them again for sure.Must. Go. And. Do. Something .....
Better is good enough.7 -
My dining room is clean at last. It's only small, you walk through it to get to the kitchen, I practically live in there during the day (Sarah Beeny would not find any 'blue' in my downstairs lol), I almost always eat at the table and I read while I eat...
I've also been to town and bought birthday and anniversary cards for the month (sis and her kids all married in August, as did I the first time) so, while it's a lot of cards in one month at least they all get remembered (or forgotten) together. Her youngest gets married next August just to keep the pattern going. So I nipped to town Tesco for chicken breast (diet limited for two days) and found two packs YS so have done a batch cook. Also got a small free range chicken half price so that's in the freezer. Got my hair dye - I buy two usually as there's an offer if you buy two, and while lots of places stock the brand I use only B00ts stocks the shade. And I have rabbit food.
Hope your feet are calming down ASB.
