  • Morning all, just popping in quickly as work has exploded this week and my head is all over the place 🤯

Haven't managed to get any exercise in this week but hope to go for a long walk after work if I can finish at a reasonable time.  Had ff yogurt and blueberries for breakfast, lunch is going to be a chicken salad and dinner is jacket potato with beans and cheese probably because I need something comforting.

Hugs to those that need them and hope you all have a good day.

Morning all.  Wow that's a huge jump in syns for the Aldi lamb shanks.  I usually buy the Iceland ones @ 2 syns each, in fact a bought a couple of packs this week to bung in the freezer for an easy Sunday or mid week roast.  Lamb is so expensive to buy a joint we don't often have lamb so they are a reasonably priced alternative and taste good too!  They also do one that's in mint gravy for 3 syns which is also OK, although as you've probably noticed I'm not a gravy gal!

    Today's plan:

B - baked oats; strawberries, raspberries and cherries (all frozen & defrosted); greek yoghurt - HEB; S; F
L - LO sausage cassoulet - P; S (not syncing sausage as very little left and synned them yesterday anyway!)
    D - liver, bacon, mash, green veg - P; S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - oats
Syns - none planned but may have a G&T or 2 this evening.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning all,

Tired girl here today. started early yesterday, finished late, went spinning. Had a lovely catch up with one of my favourite friends who hadn’t been at class for a while. Meant tea was very late. Then I didn’t sleep well because of it. Ended up getting up at 5.30, getting ready going for a 2.5 mile walk before work and then starting work at 6.45, im determined to be out the door tonight at 4.30!

B fruit and fibre ss milk

L HM lentil soup, and something else

D hm chilli, rice/chips half and half with cheese on top, im going all out.

Its sw chilli by the way. Im going out for lunch with friends on Saturday. They picked the venue but it very nice. Its like a smokehouse burger joint place. So im going to let my hair down, have a drink and some naughty food. Treat for hammering work and walking and exercise this week.

  • Hi everyone! It it ok if I rejoin this thread? I used to be on the forums a while ago but had a horrendous divorce, new marriage and baby in between.

Also a lapsed SW member but I rejoined online as I had the realisation after our last break away and seeing photos of the lockdown weight gain that if I didn’t start taking my health seriously now I wouldn’t be around as long as I’d like to see our little girl grow up. I’ve also been diagnosed with PCOS finally which explains the blood sugar and difficulty losing weight issues I have and I’m also facing a diagnosis of either long covid or adult onset asthma or some combination of the two after having what seemed very much like covid in March 2020 and having a recurring hacking cough that comes and goes whenever I seem to get even mild exposure to another illness as though my immune system is just going into overdrive. The asthma nurse says she thinks it’s long covid but they can’t be sure as it’s so new and she’s got other people like me on the books with the same symptoms and putting us on the asthma treatment plan seems to help us so that’s what they are doing for now.

I’ve still got until end of October on online membership but now I’ve had a refresher off it, got the new books and cleaned them out of the recipe books published since I was last a member I don’t think there’s anything else I’m actually gaining from it. Also peeved that they don’t give you the free lifetime membership online either that you do in group so thought what on earth am I actually paying you for if I carry on with a membership!

In between, I’ve really been trying to work on my relationship with food as I am a massive emotional eater and veer between eating my feelings or not eating as it’s something I can control. I’ve been following intuitive eating in the meantime and just got to the point that I needed to start actually focusing on nutrition again as I really did take the eat what you want when you want mentality to it’s limits. Coming out the other side I genuinely can now take or leave chocolate in the moment so SW is giving me the push I needed to actually clean up my diet properly and start getting some proper food down me. The gentle nutrition guidelines of just basically eat fruit and veg just weren’t enough structure for me as I don’t do well being effectively left to it.

I also went veggie a couple of years ago and basically did a straight replacement of meat with cheese which hasn’t helped, the amount of halloumi I’ve eaten over lockdown is insane!!

So far, I’ve lost 6.5kg since rejoining at the end of July. As my priority is my health I’m not setting lofty targets of lose 4 stone or get back to my old (and probably far too low) target as in the past that’s just failed me and seemed so impossible I may as well give up. This time I’m just taking it half a stone at a time and seeing where I get to. Also means I’ve already had the target book sent to me off the online membership so I’m ready for the day I finally say my body’s at the weight it’s happiest at and reading though it, it’s basically just what intuitive eating tries to get you to anyway!

Welcome @evilsquid1603 to the thread.  Well done on the weight you've lost so far.  Have to say I'm not particularly sure about the conversion from Kg to stones but think 6.5Kg has got to be in the region of 1stone!  Is that right?  Most of us tend to use stones and pounds on here!

I'm sure you'll manage fine without the online access when you membership runs out next month with just using this thread.  The SW blog often has recipes that non members are able to access and there are plenty of websites around with SW friendly recipes too.  One of my favourites is the SlimmingEats one - she's a British woman living in Canada so understands that there are a few differences between our SW and the USA SW!  If you like recipe books she has one coming out at the end of the year which you can pre-order from Ama*on - ask me how I know, LOL!

If it would help you're quite welcome to add your daily menu plans to the thread.  A few of us find it helps to keep us focussed.

By the way I meant to say if you need to know any of the syn values you can always ask on here and someone will come up with the answer quite quickly usually!

Good luck with getting to where you want to be!
