Morning all, sorry to hear your niece your has Covid as well, shame she didn't manage to get a jab done when the age was reduced to 16 and 17 year olds but hopefully she doesn't suffer too bad and hope your sister manages to avoid catching it too.

I don't bother with quiche and egg muffins as DH won't eat them and I don't like them after they've been frozen.  Wish he did as they would make a good lunch with some salad or even an evening meal with some chips and beans.

@bubbs - cottage cheese is variable between SMs; the only one I like is the Tesco one as it's quite lumpy but I find the Morrison's one far too smooth.  It also tastes completely different cooked and raw.  I'm not over keen raw but will eat it with a jacket occasionally but cooked isn't as bad I find.

I ended up on 5.5 syns yesterday and didn't even have the chocolate!  Decided on a couple of crisp breads with a bit of Primula Light instead.

    Today's plan:

    B - breakfast hash topped with eggs - P; S; F
    L - Welsh rarebit - HEA2; HEB; P;F
    D - corned beef hash - P; S; F; 1.5

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    Syns - corned beef 1.5

I might have a few syns later but not sure what on yet!  I've got an avocado but not sure if it will be ripe enough to eat this evening but if it is I might have half that and some prawns as a snack for another 7 so still well within syns (will need to weigh the flesh to check the syns once it's cut!).  Going to get some prawns out to snack on anyway.

DH is planning on lighting the smoker this evening and smoking a piece of cured pork loin to make bacon and also a few pieces of cured haddock; some of which will get used tomorrow morning for breakfast and rest into the freezer portioned up.  The bacon will also be sliced and portioned up.  The slicer has been amazing buy since we started making our own bacon.

Think I might cook the gammon joint I've got in the fridge today so that DH can slice that up for sandwich fillings and lunches over the next few weeks/months.  Seems sensible to do it while DH has the slicer out.  Might as well get everything that needs slicing done at the same time while the machine is out as it's quite bulky and has to live in a spare wardrobe!  Just realised this is a gadget I forgot to mention when we were discussing gadgets recently!

    Have a good day everyone.

Morning all.  Had a few busy days; the wedding was lovely on Thursday and managed to stay away from the buffet but did have a couple of glasses of wine.  Then Friday I went out to RHS Wisley to get out of the house while DH prepped for an interview (still waiting to hear if he got the job or not) and I may have treated myself to a slice of carrot cake with a cup of tea in one of the cafe's, which was balanced out by all the walking.  Then Saturday we met up with DH's dad, sister and her partner for a coffee and a walk around a country park for a few hours.  Yesterday was spent doing nothing but I did make an apple crumble to use up the apples that were in the fridge and as a result put on 2lbs this week 😏

Oh well, back to it this week: ff yogurt and blueberries for breakfast, lunch is roasted tomatoes and cream cheese on toast (have a glut of tomatoes from the garden to use up!) and then dinner is a chicken rice bowl with lots of veggies.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Mrs R you should have given me a wave as you were getting a train in Stockport…
I haven’t been recording my food but stayed within syns and counted in my head…and it’s been quite easy for some reason. It’s like a switch clicks some weeks and then it clicks off just as easily….I’ll go with it though 😁 I’ve even resisted egg custards brought in by dh…..hopefully he’s getting the message. When I was very ill this time last year and wasn’t eating anything he was bringing things to tempt me eat…..which worked a little too well…..wer’e both getting the message again now though and I’ve realised it’s a way of life and not a quick fix diet.

  • No idea where my posting yesterday has gone. :( Didn't walk as much as planned on Saturday as my toes started objecting! However did do about 13-14 miles, so not horrendously far off the planned. May have had an eclair though, my aunt has a thing about M&S macaroons so we had to nip to that side to buy them (I had done lunch, which was all good!) & then picked up the eclairs. Sat down but a water mill to eat & thoroughly enjoyed, was exceptionally good with the macaroons, had 1 and there were none left when we got home! She has developed such a sweet tooth.

Somehow got bitten on a finger, didn't notice until I got up yesterday, luckily had the foresight to take my ring off, it is now very swollen and hot. Popped to the chemist who gave my an anti histamine and said to contact gp as I will need antibiotics.  Called surgery, only to discover that the local authority took my records 6 months ago and I have now been deregistered. Was gobsmacked, no idea why this happened, so now have to go through the process of registering again and even worse, will have to go to A&E after work to get a prescription, I hate having to waste their time for something unimportant.

That's very strange about the GP @Gettingtherequickly. I wonder why that happened. 🤔

You're so right about SW being a way of life @milann. We all stray from it now and then whether it's for a meal or a day or a holiday but it's definitely my default position that I always return to. It's the getting back on plan ASAP that matters most. 😊

Shame about the gain @ruby_eskimo but you do seem to have had a good few days. 🤞for your DH and the interview.

The bacon and haddock sound delicious @joedenise, well worth the effort I'm sure. I suppose the smoker could be another gadget on your list. 🤣

I've not had any lunch yet. I had a hair appointment at lunchtime and wasn't hungry enough before I went. I think I'll just leave it now and perhaps snack on something SW friendly if I can't hang on until dinner. I have about 30 syns left until Thursday but no plans to use them.

I don't feel any thinner but I've done my best. If I'm out of range this week, it'll take a while to get back as I'm out twice next week but que sera...

    Today's EE plan -
B- NAS grapefruit squash, banana (F), HEB porridge, HEA milk, raspberries (S)
    L- tbc
D- baked salmon (P), cubed potatoes (F), spiced cauli, broccoli, tomatoes, mushrooms (S)
    Syns - skinny syrup 0.5

The bacon and haddock are well worth the effort @maman.  Suppose it is another gadget but that one isn't mine it's DH's!  Can also be used as a BBQ with the top piece taken out.  DH is even thinking of putting it in the motorhome to take away with us (minus the smoker bit!) but I'm trying to dissuade him as it's a charcoal BBQ which is a bit messy; the gas one is far more motorhome friendly as far as I'm concerned!

Hope you manage to get back into target range this week or you'll be in the same boat as me with a grace week and if you don't lose then have to pay.  I'm really hoping I can shift that pesky half pound this week as hoping to get away for a few weekends over the next couple of months.  Could really do with being back in range on Friday morning as meeting my friend for lunch on Saturday but suspect it'll be Weatherspoons so could be worse synwise!  I'll probably have the grilled chicken breast with salad as planning on jacket potato for lunch one day this week so don't really want another that soon!

    Evening all
I’m melting! Far too hot. I don’t do hot weather.
Haven’t felt like eating but I’ve been good and made sure I ate and drank plenty.

L: 2 x Skinni sweet chilli burgers (1) couscous (0.5) salad (1 syn for dressing and also 2 Syns for tomato ketchup)
T: SW hunters chicken, potatoes and veg.
    2 peaches
    S: Crisps (6.5)
    Syns: 11
    Hope everyone is okay xx

I love that you and DH have his and hers gadgets @joedenise. Here, the vacuum cleaner definitely belongs to DH! 🤣

In the end I ate a pear and a bit of cold chicken this afternoon so held out easily for dinner. I decided to do garlic mushrooms as well. I think I'm within 2xHEAs but no problem if I'm over as plenty of syns to cover it. I find I barely use a HEA for the mushrooms for 2 of us, some Primula and some Parmesan.

🤣🤣🤣.  Vacuum cleaner is also DH's in this house too!  It's too heavy for me to lug about - DH chose it so that makes it his!

Well done on on not eating anything "naughty" this afternoon.

We didn't have the avocado and prawns in the end as the avocado still isn't ripe enough.  Hopefully it will be tomorrow.  Had a couple of squares of chocolate instead!

Really hot here too @MrsRyan, maybe that's why I didn't feel like lunch. You did well to get right back on plan and within syns. 😊

    Wot no @bubbs? 🤔
