Oh no @bubbs, not again! I am pleased that the consultant is trying to help you though. Maybe it is worth having at least 5 syns a day just to see what happens. 🤔
It was really grey and wet here first thing but it's brightened up since.
DH decided he really fancied porridge this morning so I may go over on HEAs today as I plan to make cheese sauce. I'm going to have to stop being a bit careless with syns sooner or later. Last night I decided to have 2 Ryvitas. It's not huge snacking but easy to let things get out of hand. At the moment I'm seeing our meal out on Friday as a possible turning point. I'll have whatever I fancy and then draw a line. 🤔
Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit squash, skinny syrup, banana (F), HEB porridge, HEA milk, raspberries (S)
L- veggie omelette (P,S), pickles (S)
D- gammon slices (P), roast potato cubes (F), cauliflower cheese (S and HEA2 and HEB), green beans (S)
Syns- weekend wine😁1 -
It wouldn't have occurred to me to blend the fruit thanks. I am the kind of person that can't eat lumpy soup so taking the lumps out of the fruit makes sense. I can chuck in some rhubarb chunks out of the freezer too.
Breakfast was toast because it's easy for a work day, lunch was chicken and salad and dinner will be sausages and something as yet undecided. Our local butcher used to pay to have his sausages accredited by SW but SW started asking for too much money so sausages are now sold as "slimming". They don't shed any fat when cooked and even my teenage son prefers them to anything supermarket bought. Just in case we count them as 1 syn.1 -
Sts this morning,very relieved !
I belong to a wine tasting group (U3A ) and we met on Thursday, the member hosting had a Spanish wine theme ,is an excellent cook and made lot of Tapas to accompany,!It was delicious,I had been very strict after last Saturdays blip but am so relieved!1 -
Sound like you had a good time @Suffolksue. Life's for living so you've done well to STS. 👏👏👏
I don't think your butcher was the only one to give up on SW when they got greedy @CRANKY40. Well done on them for carrying on making them. It reminded me of when I first started with SW. A butcher used to come to our group with samples and take orders for delicious low syn and syn free sausages. SW tried to stop Asda doing low syn slimming meals too but don't think they succeeded. I sometimes buy the Aldi chicken curry in the Slimwell range at 2 syns for a generous portion.3 -
Cranky the official SW line is that you should syn fruit if it's blended but it's up to you whether you do. I think it's because you can eat far less of the whole fruit than blended, you also get more fibre. Can't say I really understand it because the same doesn't apply to veg in soup.
Our local butcher also does low fat sausages which we syn at 1 syn although as no fat comes out when you cook them I suspect we could get away with calling them syn free - they're also much meatier than most sausages you can buy and no cereal in them as he uses egg to bind them.
SuffolkSue SW has to work around your life not the other way round. Just enjoy things like your wine tasting and then draw the line and get back on plan until the next event comes along! It's how I have to do things because of going away in the motorhome so frequently! We also eat out quite a lot when we're away so that makes things a bit difficult sometimes.

Well, was really annoyed with myself yesterday, so went off plan. Had taken some cheeseburger pasta out of the freezer, was really looking forward to it, then discovered I had not re-marked the box, chicken stock was not planned
. Wrote off the evening, had a cooked breakfast today, well brunch as I had the oven, hob & extractor being cleaned so had to keep out of the kitchen. Will have a jp this evening with salad, not planning on syns, but who knows😀
A smile costs little but creates much2 -
That's so annoying GTQ and so easily done. You've drawn the line and back on plan. Don't beat yourself up about it - you can't do anything about the past only the future.
Have just been onto the Slimming Eats website and it seems she releasing a cookbook at the end of the year with 100 new recipes plus 15 from the website. Think I'll probably order it as I do like her recipes although sometimes the portion sizes leave a lot to be desired! Quite often a recipe will say serves 4 but it's really only 2 or 3 portions for us and I wouldn't say we have huge portions but obviously bigger than hers!

Don't blame you not fancying chicken stock for dinner @Gettingtherequickly! 🤣 I label my freezer boxes with masking tape and peel it off before they go into the dishwasher. Worth a try. 🤔2

joedenise said:Glad your consultant is on the case bubbs. Could you use some of your syns for things like gravy and sauces? How about real icecream instead of your yoghurt ice cream? Not every day but perhaps a couple of times a week? How about some real chocolate grated over your ice cream rather than the choc shot?
I'm not in the least bit surprised that you were hungry by 11am if you only had a banana for breakfast yesterday! I'd have been starving without an hour!
Good luck with trying to use some syns this week!
Today i have had 16 syns, 14 chicken and cashew and i had 2 syns egg fried rice and bns chips
