Morning all!  Thanks for the shiny new thread beanie.

Hope you've had a nice time away denise, with no accidents this time!

Food looks great as always bubbs - I always rotate around a chicken and cashew nuts or prawns in black bean sauce or oyster sauce at the chinese because our local adds loads of veg into their portions!

I basically spent all weekend just sitting indoors, in front of the fan, reading my book (well I actually finished 2 and almost finished the 3rd).  I felt a little guilty not doing anything but it was also lovely to just relax for the first time in a while.  DH occupied himself with lots of DIY (something to do with concrete and the garage, I wasn't really paying attention!)

Put on a lb this week which isn't surprising to me as I a) had a beer yesterday afternoon (a lovely grapefruit low alcohol one that reminds me of Florida) and b) my body swells in the heat anyway, oh and c) it's star week soon so I'm going to be retaining a lot of water, despite drinking over 4 litres each day.  Got a walk in this morning before it got too hot (was still too hot for a run) and breakfast afterwards was ff yogurt, granola, half a banana and then half a fruit salad I picked up from M&S on Saturday (kiwi, mango, pineapple and strawberries).  Lunch is going to be a chicken salad (I cooked a whole chicken in the slow cooker yesterday so that will be topping my salads this week) and then dinner is a carbonara because it's quick to cook and we both want some pasta.

Hope everyone has a good day and stays cool - I'm dreading going back into the office on Thursday because there's no air con and most of the windows don't open 🥵

    Good morning all,

Nice to have a new thread, keeps it fresh

Very synful but enjoyable weekend, I did make some good choices. I had a salad for Saturday brunch. Saturday night I was making a PON chicken pie with filo top. Morrisons however had no filo. So I bought the reduced fat puff and just used it on top. Delicious and had the leftovers last night. However had a day trip away to the coast where we had a sit in burger with pulled pork and chilli beef with chips and then visited a local ice cream place where I had 2 scoops! I did do a fair bit of walking yesterday so hoping this helps the matter!

Dog like something possessed with lack of exercise due to the heat, he is amusing me greatly. As soon as my eyes open he is hopeful of walkies! Its overcast here so possibly tonight we might get a decent walk in! he was left behind yesterday on our road trip, we missed him but much safer for him.

Supposed to make celery soup last night but it did not happen, that’s tonight’s job

No loss but again, heavy ankles, I put the water retention in the legs to the heat so I do think I have lost weight, im going to weigh when it goes down so im not disheartened

B – fruit and fibre ss milk

    L – pot noodle

D – chicken potatoes and veg ( chicken breast, baby potatoes, mashed turnip, peas )

I think water retention is a likely cause for you both klew and ruby. Just keep drinking loads of water and you'll see a loss eventually.😊

Shame about the windows that don't open ruby, although I think it's forecast to be a little cooler later in the week. The air con isn't such an issue as, I believe,  it  circulates stale air which we really don't need at present however good it might feel. The trouble is that this country is all geared up for shutting out cold air.

Fortunately the front of our house is north facing so stays lovely and cool. Yesterday I sat in our front garden which has sufficient shrubs to hide me from the road, although the road is quiet.

DH is still a bit off his food so eating very small portions. As a result, plenty of L0s from yesterday. It might just be the heat but am keeping an eye on him.

    Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit squash (F), scrambled eggs (P), HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
L- cold pork (P), potato (F), fried veg and pickles (S)
D- baked cod (P), cubed potatoes, mushy peas (F), mushrooms, tomatoes, broccoli S)
    Syns- 0

You're right maman, we can't have aircon on even if we had it at work because of the risk of circulating a certain virus... which also means no fans either.  Plus my desk is directly in front of a massive window where the sun reflects off of the very shiny building across the canal.  It was bad enough in February last year so dread to think what it's going to be like in 29 degree weather.

Right enough of my moaning about the weather, better stop procrastinating and go back to answering emails.  Not feeling too hungry so don't know when I'll be having lunch, might just end up picking at the salad as I go this afternoon.

Afternoon all.  Back from our weekend away and no more accidents ruby!. Shoulder is still feeling very sore although not quite as painful and I can actually get my arm to shoulder level without too much pain.  Still too painful to lift my arms above my head so DH is still going to have to hang out the washing and get it back in.  He's still having to do all the chopping too!

Well we had a very enjoyable if very synful weekend and it was lovely to catch up with our friends.  We're meeting up again in a couple of weeks so think I better go to WI that Friday before meeting up!!!!  The Indian meal we had out was lovely and it's a restaurant we'll definitely use again when we're in the area - it's somewhere we go at some time over the summer every year.

maman hope your DH is OK and it is just the heat that's the cause of the problem.  Neither DH nor I are feeling hungry - I'm sure it's something to do with the heat.

    Today's plan:

    B - fry up with sausages - P; S; F; 2
L - neither of us are hungry so nothing at the moment but may have a couple of crackers with hummus shortly if we fancy something
    D - zingy chicken traybake followed by strawberries and cream - P; S; F; 7.5

    HEA - milk
    HEB - crackers
    Syns - sausages 2; grainy mustard 0.5; cream 7

Once the cream is used up that will be the end of the naughty food!!!

It'll be damage limitation for the rest of the week!

Also back to slimming world (but haven’t rejoined). I’m a week in and had forgotten how much chopping is involved in making food with lots of veg in. One week in, just under a pound lost (so slow) and really need to get back into the swing of making everything from scratch. I almost don’t want to finish work to face all the chef work at the end of the day…sigh! Good luck everyone.

WinterWarrior welcome to our lovely thread.  Don't worry about being a slow loser - I lost only 0.5lb most weeks and eventually got to target!  That was 10 years ago and I'm still around target weight (top end though as keep going away and not sticking to plan at weekends).  Just have to be on plan all week.

You can cheat with the veg by using frozen or ready chopped stuff if it would make your life easier.  The thing that a lot of us do is to batch cook so we have HM ready meals in the freezer then can just take out what you want for the next night the previous day or even in the morning before you go to work.

You could of course prep all your veg at the weekend and keep it in the fridge ready to use or even freeze it in meal sized portions.

If you want to you could post your menu plans on here to help keep you accountable, particularly as you haven't rejoined a group.  If you need any help with syns etc just ask there is usually someone around who can help.

Anyway good luck with losing the weight you want to.

Thanks both. I find frozen veg is watery and takes longer to boil down (when making Bolognaise, etc.), but I do use it sometimes.
I have a stone to shift so maybe by Christmas? 😖
I confess I’m not as syn strict as I could be. I do have the books and will review my plan if nothing is moving, but at the moment I’m trying for free food, a & b during the day with one treat at night (I mean like a thick choc biscuit, a bag of m &m’s or a bar of something, rather than a complete cake 🤣) The calories are at a decent level and everything barring the treat is sw. obviously if I’m not losing at all then I’ll need to review it.
Batch cooking is such a good idea, but I never manage to do it 😦
its not boiling in Scotland ☹️

WW don't know how long ago you did SW but you are now allowed 2 HEAs and 1 HEB each day.  Sometimes that 2nd HEA is useful if you drink tea and coffee with milk so you can use cheese in your evening meal or even in a sandwich for lunch!
