Thanks bubbs, could be useful to some.  I tend to use these as prefer to use fresh garlic; chillies and ginger I freeze and then use from frozen.  Frozen ginger grates easier than fresh!

How come your fruit and ice cream is one syn?  Are you stirring cooked fruit through the ice cream?

The Lidl own brand lazy garlic is even better value than Tesco bubbs. I use both that and fresh. I tend to use fresh when whole cloves are needed like with roasted veg.

I like the penance for eating the ice cream klew! Don't be too hard on yourself. It could have been that you wanted ice cream to cool you down.

We don't eat loads of salad here either WW. I buy tomatoes, peppers and spring onions but that gives me the option of having them raw or cooked so nothing gets wasted.  I'm sure there won't be many syns in the chilli mix but, if you do ever want to make your own, I can thoroughly recommend the Hairy Bikers recipe.

I do it with meat or without (extra beans and veg) but always use beef stock for flavour. I think it tastes more spicy if you make it in advance and let it marinate.

I'm stupidly excited this morning denise. Even though I've had my current WM for years, today I discovered a 20 minute programme which includes the second fastest spin!  It's perfect for just washing through clothes that are barely dirty but want freshening up. Who knew??😁

DH is much improved today but I won't plate up tonight's dinner. He can help himself to what he wants and leave any LOs for me!

    Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit, skinny syrup, banana (F), HEB porridge, HEA milk, raspberries (S)
L- cold pork (P), potato (F), fried veg and pickles (S)
D- sausages, mash, peas (F), onions, BNS (in mash), carrots, cabbage, broccoli (S)
Syns- Aldi sausages 1, gravy 4?

Hi everyone hope it's ok to join in on this thread. I am a lapsed SW member who got to goal but has now put back on the weight I lost due to giving up going to my group way before the pandemic started 😟
I'm rejoining a new group on Monday so I'm now looking forward to getting back to my goal weight. I currently have a stone to lose to get me back to my goal 😊

Welcome Onebrokelady.  Everyone is welcome here.  I'm currently just outside target range but only by lb which I'm hoping I can lose before I go to group for WI on 30th!  Planning on going then as meeting up with boozy friends again the weekend after and we're away from the Monday for a few days before that.

I have to admit bubbs to not bothering to count the syns in sweetener although it's very rare I use a Tbs per portion which is when it needs to be synned.  I probably have less than a tsp when I use it, usually in overnight oats or baked oats.

Glad to hear DH is feeling a bit better maman.

My DH weighed himself this morning and he's back to where he was last Friday morning - I bet he loses again even though he's had more syns than me this week!

Welcome onebrokelady. ☺️ I think you've done quite well to only gain a stone. You know SW works so well done for getting back to it.

I'm another that ignores sweetener. I use very little, just an occasional sprinkle with fruit and yogurt. About the only time I'm generous with it is for braised red cabbage and broken down into loads of portions it's not worth counting.

    Hi everyone,
Well things didn't quite go to plan on our JoGLE walk (to put it mildly). DSis got bad blisters after 4 days of walking and we had to take 3 days rest in a tent. I was fetcher, carrier, chef, bottle washer, mood lifter and general dogsbody for those days. We then started off again and decided to do 10 miles max per day. I had pre-booked the first 3 weeks of accommodation and we lost money as were cancelling at the last minute. Upshot is that we reached Fort William last Thursday (by bus as DSis couldn't walk) and she went to a GP who said feet were infected, need to have ABs and stay off feet for two weeks. We had the pleasure (!) of the night bus from FW via Glasgow back to London - not something I would want to repeat.
We are now home for the foreseeable. Added complication is that DDad is having open heart surgery on Friday in Cyprus and we haven't seen him since Oct 2019 so are trying to go see him if we can jump through all the hoops needed for an amber country. May go back to Scotland for the West Highland Way afterwards.
I lost 1/2 lb whilst away - lots of bread, ambient soup and noodles on the campstove - despite all the walking  You will know that I was running early mornings for around 18 months prior to the walk. DSis (same height) is 3st heavier than me, think she thought the weight would drop off her with the 1k mile walk. Think it's the weight that killed her feet, but of course, can't say that. I'm feeling so fed up, but couldn't continue on my own despite being well able to.
Will look forward to joining back in with you shortly. DH has been on shopping/cooking duty - lord knows what's in the freezer/cupboards  :o
