Morning all, hope you're feeling better @beanielou and all goes well this morning @joedenise.   Thanks for the recipe @maman but I ended up dumping the lemon curd, didn't like it enough to keep going!

GTQ hope all goes well with your mum's chemo sessions.  Maybe some thicker soups and stews that can be eaten on their own straight from the bowl.  I know for some, chemo can leave your mouth and throat sore, so maybe pop ice-cream or lollies in the freezer too?

    Today's food:
    B - toast HEB, jam
L - veggie omelette and pickles
D - pasta with tomato sauce using up remaining veg

    Have a good day!
  • Morning all.  Well done on the loss @joedenise and hope all goes well with your appointment.  @Gettingtherequickly
I'd second the ice cream / lollies - my dad practically lived off of rocket lollies while he was having chemo a few years ago.  One bowl meals go down well too - cottage pie and lasagne also fared quite well with him and easy to batch cook too.

Had a long day in the office yesterday so taking it easy today and finishing early too.  Had some ff yogurt and blueberries for breakfast after doing a workout, lunch is going to be a tuna salad and then DH want's fish fingers for dinner tonight so may end up having a fish finger sandwich.

We're having some friends over for dinner tomorrow night and I hate cooking for other people - I know DH will eat anything I put in front of him but I get really nervous about cooking for other people!  Decided to try and make it easy on myself and make lasagne which I can prep in the morning and have some broccoli, salad, herby potatoes and garlic bread sides that they can serve themselves.  Desert will be either sorbet or affogato's, plus lots of red wine I'm sure.  Just need to run around like a mad woman cleaning everything before they get here!

Hope everyone has a good day and rest of the week.

Back from hospital and everything went well.  I can finally move my arm in all directions, although still not full movement with arm behind my back.  Been given some exercises to do for the next 3 weeks after which I've got an appointment booked with my local physio centre where I had a session previously before I knew I had a torn tendon and was advised by GP not to continue, apparently not the right advice!  I should have carried on with the exercises.

I have a lovely yellow/brown shoulder where it was painted with iodine, now need to try and wash it off without dislodging the dressings!

@GTQ - hope your mum is OK with the chemo.  Perhaps you could make things like cottage pie and a variety of soups all of which are easy to eat.  As others have said plenty of lollies and ice cream.

Change of plan!  Didn’t have F&C for lunch we went to a restaurant and  I had a slow cooked lamb shoulder.  Much nicer than F&C!  Probably no more syns but loads of veg -  carrots, peas, cauliflower and broccoli.

The meet we’re at have hired a hall so it’s drinks and nibbles later so more syns but he ho damage limitation next week!

Welcome back @durham_mim. 😊 I'm sure the wedding will give you great motivation to look slim and gorgeous. The recipe links seemed to stop working when they 'improved: the site but do ask if you remember one you particularly liked. SW has changed a bit recently, especially as we can now have 2 x HEAs if you want to. 😁

I'm delighted to hear your shoulder feels better already @joedenise. Magic! Great that you've got some exercises to keep you going until you see the physio. Hope the fish and chips went down well. 😋

I like the idea of a picky plate for lunch @bubbs. 🤞for tomorrow. Who knows? 🤔

Does your mum like spicy food @Gettingtherequickly? I love veggie chilli and it freezes well. I also freeze rice in portions. All easy to ping in the microwave.

A bit of a NSV for me today. I met a friend for coffee. She's dabbled with SW but gives up easily. She's not enormous but I felt so good for sticking with it. It's not just that I'm slim but I feel so much more confident. 10 years on and it still feels brilliant. Well worth persevering. 😁

    Today's EE plan -
B- NAS grapefruit squash, baked beans (F), fried egg, bacon (P), HEB toast, HEA milk
L- mackerel in mustard sauce (P), pickles (S)
D- Fake KFC (P), SW chips (F), broccoli, sugar snaps, mushrooms, tomatoes (S)
    Syns - weekend wine 😁
