@Jellybaby - do you use a ready made white sauce when you make lasagne or do you make your own using butter, flour, milk etc?  I can never get it to not be lumpy which is why I generally use a cheese sauce mix and why I've decided to try the cottage cheese one as I actually remembered to buy some this week!

Well done on your loss @Jellybaby. That's excellent! 👏👏👏

It's so difficult to stick to plan when you're out of sorts @Suffolksue. Half a pound will be easily lost when you can focus again. Hope you recover soon. 😊

I found a fat free recipe for cheese sauce. I'll post it when I can get to desktop . Basically it's adding a cornflour paste to warmed milk and then stirring in the cheese. It isn't lumpy but you need to watch carefully in the microwave or stir continuously on the hob.

Denise,  I usually buy a mix and syn it. It usually works out about 2 /2.5 syns depending how many portions I get from it. My own attempts have never been successful. It’s either lumpy or tastes floury and that puts me off it too.

I have used quark and added Parmesan and seasoning and just put it on top to finish.  It tasted ok but looked revolting 😂 definitely one to eat on your own.

I've tried the cauliflower white sauce but didn't like it!   DH said "don't make it like that again!"  I think the cottage cheese sauce is going to be a bit lumpy because of the cottage cheese I bought.  Might have been better buying the one from Morrisons as that is a smoother cottage cheese but I don't like the texture of that one when I have it on jacket potato!  I much prefer the lumpy Tesco one so that's what I bought!

I wouldn't think there's much room in your fridge for cottage cheese or anything else! 🤣

I eat two pots most weeks and I love it with chilli. Only today I had some for lunch. Like you say, we're all different. 😁

Well we'll be sticking to cottage cheese on our jacket potatoes in future, LOL!  Definitely not successful as cheese sauce!  I looked a bit scrambled, a bit like when you try to make a sauce with quark - that doesn't seem to work either!  Have to say it tasted OK but it just didn't look nice so makes it a bit off-putting.  Looks like I'll be sticking with the cheese sauce mix in future!

Thanks for the report back @joedenise. I'm glad it tasted OK though so not a total disaster. Which sauce mix do you usually use and how many syns? 🤔

I took cheese sauce off the menu when I started SW and have only started making it again recently when HEA2 was introduced.
