@maman it might be something to do with not having a particularly big washing machine drum! Today is actually the first lot of washing I've done for a week so not surprising I had 3 machine loads including the bedding!
That's so funny @bubbs - I don't even make crustless quiche very often because DH doesn't like it and I'm not making it just for me as I'd have to eat it every day for 4 days as only ever have a quarter at a time with some salad for lunch.
You definitely seem to have better raffle prizes than my group. Mind you I don't suppose the consultant can get much as she always does 2 prizes but doubt it costs more than about £4 each so definitely makes a decent profit each week which goes towards the Christmas raffle. Apparently they have some good prizes for that - last year apparently there was an Actifry but don't know what else as I wasn't there of course. Not going to be there this year either as I should be in France!

evening all
quickly nipping in to report:
breakfast: heb toast
lunch: chicken and melon and mango - had another lecture from mr about the fact he doesn't think i eat enough to lose weight as I don't eat more than one meal a lot of the time
tea - fish pie - 14syns but oh so worth it (well 13.75 but that leftover 0.25 does nothing for my brain so rounding up)
tomorrow we are off to my parents old house. mum has sold it as dad passed away in April and there is a hell of a lot of 'stuff' to sort and list to sell and take out etcbreakfast will likely be fruit and a 0.5syn yogurt, lunch I'm not sure yet. might pack a sandwich on heb bread so i can be in control, tea - pork steaks, mash and onion gravy

I didn't know about your dad. So sorry for your loss @lushlifesaver. You've been through so much since you've been away. Well done you getting back to SW and to your mum for supporting you. 👏👏👏

Ditto what @maman said.
Morning all, another grey day and forecast doesn't look much better for the rest of the day! Going to have a lazy day today and do a bit of crafting later but not much else.
Today's plan:
B - fry up - P; S; F; 2
L - cheeseburger, onions in WM roll - HEB; S; 3
D - gammon, roast potatoes & peppers, green veg
HEA - milk
HEB - roll
Syns - sausages 2; burger 0.5; cheese slice 2.5
Will use the gammon water to make a ham and lentil soup in the SC! Yes I relented have bought another one; always useful in winter for stews, curries & other batch cooking.
Have a good day everyone.

Funnily enough @joedenise I was having a similar conversation with a friend on Friday. He and his family had an Airbnb in the peak distract for the weekend and they were taking their SC with them. They had a really busy day planned yesterday and were going to get back to a hearty stew. Others in the group didn't have a SC and asked what we used them for. Personally I use mine for batch cooking as it's great to be able to just walk away and leave it. I did Bolognese yesterday while I was at the football. 😁
Another cheat meal today as I'm using beef slices from the freezer. Today I'm going to have to put up with gravy granules as I've not got any HB gravy left which I usually have. Maybe I can tart it up a bit. I almost always make my own gravy unless it's sausages.
It's dull here too but dry. We got out for a walk earlier so that was good. What sort of crafting were you doing? (searches for nosey emoji😉).
Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit squash (F), 2 fried eggs (P), tomatoes and mushrooms (S), HEB toast, HEA milk
L- JP (F), cottage cheese (P), beetroot, cornichons, spring onion (S)
D- beef (P), SW roast potatoes (F), many vegetables (S)
Syns- gravy 4, weekend wine😋1 -
Didn't actually get round to doing any crafting in the end! Was going to do Diamond Dotz - I'm doing a huge picture at the moment. Started it about May or June and only done about 1/3 of it but don't want to get it finished completely as want to take it away in the motorhome when we go to France in December. Because of the constant back and forth to pick up the beads I can only do half hour or so at a time because it starts hurting my shoulder so have to rest it for an hour or so before having another half hour.
Will try and get some done tomorrow when DH is out playing golf.
Went went down to see DD1 as not seen her for a while. Stopped off at Pets at Home for her to pick up some cat litter which asked to get. After we'd left home she phoned me and said if they've got a particular one which has been reduced to £5.99 for 10l box can we pick up 4! Otherwise just pick up 2. Good job DH was with me there's no way I could have carried them!
I managed to get a big back of 5% mince from the Food Warehouse on the way home from DD1s - not seen the big bags before but means I shouldn't need to pick any up for a while. Next time I go shopping I'm going to pick up some more veg and then do a batch of savoury mince in the SC. Would you mind posting your recipe @maman? Thank you.
Having a cuppa and then I'm going to sort out dinner.

No problem @joedenise. I got the recipe from here when @topgirl used to post way back. Needless to say I've tweaked it and use less meat, a handful of lentils and sometimes some courgettes too. I rarely add potatoes as then I can use it for a SP meal if I want to. I suppose BNS would work. If I add peas I do it just before serving or they lose colour. It's the only recipe I use Oxo for but any stock cubes would be fine. Another thing I add is the inside of broccoli stem, diced, as I hate throwing anything away.
I'd never heard of Diamond Dotz. Interesting. 🤔Savoury Mince
Ingredients
500g mince
2 onions
2 crushed garlic cloves
3 carrots
2 diced potatoes
200g mushrooms
cup frozen peas
5 Oxo cubes
800 mls water
5 tbsps tomato puree
seasoning
Method
You can brown the meat first but I just throw everything in the SC. 😁1 -
Many thanks @maman. I need to buy some veg and I only have some celery, carrots and a pepper in the fridge at the moment! Definitely need to get some mushrooms as used the last of those this morning, will also get a courgette.
Just remembered I've got a butternut in the cupboard so will add some of that too. I don't add potatoes to anything as much prefer to cook them separately. However I am planning on trying jacket potatoes in the slow cooker, not done it before but heard it works so we'll see. Cooked jackets are handy when we have a BBQ as they can just be chucked on for a while to heat through in foil. I'll probably use Oxos rather than stock pots as always have some in the cupboard.
