Morning all, weather really horrible here this morning and forecast to get worse!  Definitely no washing today, LOL!

Enjoy your few days off @Mrs_Ryan and meeting up with your sister for your joint birthday jaunt to Edinburgh - not been there for years - was DH and I's very first holiday as a married couple; 2 weeks in Scotland touring with a tent!  The thing I remember most about Edinburgh was it being a beautiful day and we were sitting on a grassy bank looking towards the Castle and having a picnic and had finished a bottle of lemonade and laid the bottle on the grass to take back to the shop to get the deposit back (those were the days!) when some kids came wandering round whipping everyone's empties!

    Today's plan:

    B - scrambled eggs & spinach on toast - HEB; P; S
    L - jacket potato, baked beans, salad - S; F
    D - keema curry, rice - P; S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
Syns - none planned but may have a chocolate & coconut bar I picked up yesterday from Home Bargains 4.5 syns

    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning all,

Head cold or something going on. Went spinning last night then went to the chip shop where I had half chips, battered sausage and lashings of salt and vinegar. Then I drove home got straight into bed where I slept very well. Sometimes you just have too!

    B fruit and fibre

L pot noodle/ping meal not sure yet

    D – ratatouille and chicken

Glad you enjoyed your chips @klew356. The syns/calories were probably horrendous but we all need a treat now and again. They say you should feed a cold! 🤣

I absolutely loved Edinburgh @MrsRyan.  DH and I had a week there before the pandemic. There was so much to see and do. We'd planned to take a train to Glasgow too but couldn't find the time.

If I were you I'd put off buying too many new clothes as I'm sure you'll drop at least one dress size very soon. When I was getting to target I bought an absolute minimum and even some stuff from charity shops which I donated back as I dropped sizes. It let me try different colours cheaply too as I'd worn so much black when I was fat.  Perhaps if you just bought one outfit to cheer yourself up now and promised yourself more in a few weeks.

I think sometimes people confuse hunger and thirst so good idea to have that water @lushlifesaver and @ruby_eskimo.  Plain water is probably best but squash is fine and even though tea and coffee can have caffeine and tannin they aren't all bad. I'm not sure about fizzy drinks though.🤔

I've worked out that I have to go to WI next week. I feel I should be doing something special to try to ensure I'm in target range but other than perhaps cutting out a few syns there's not much else I can do. I think I'm just going to have to suck it up and pay if necessary. We've waited so long to catch up with friends that I'm going to enjoy myself (within reason😉).

I have BNS in the freezer that I bought YS and ready prepared a few weeks ago @joedenise.  I'm going to batch cook some swede & carrot mash today. I hope it works out as swede can be so temperamental. Sometimes it stays hard for ages or goes a bit stringy. Has anyone used pumpkin? There are so many around at the moment for Halloween and I wondered whether it was worth buying one to cook.🤔

    Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit squash, baked beans (F), fried egg and bacon (P), HEB toast, HEA milk
L- LO cottage pie and veg (P,S,F)
D- veggie chilli (P,S), brown rice (F), cottage cheese (P)
    Syns- 0

@maman I've not cooked with pumpkin myself but there was a woman at my old group with loads of kids so she always had masses of pumpkin to use up as made so many lanterns!  It's supposed to be good for both savoury and sweet dishes as it takes flavour on from whatever you add to it, particularly spices.  I think it can be a bit stringy though although not sure about that.  At the price they are it might be worth a try!

Hearty stew is just what you need in this weather @bubbs. It's not that cold here, just wet and miserable.

I do hope the insoles make your feet more comfortable when you get them. We flew to Edinburgh from our local airport although you would need a car for touring. Most of my friends break the journey in the Lake District or somewhere part of the way.

I am hoping but can't see it as they will be lifting my  foot higher and it's the top where i have the problem and this is going to be pushing on it more, but i will give them fair chance :D
