thanks Denise I’d thought of that, but it’s a bit of a treat for him. He has been working a lot of hours and looks shattered- he will be home very late so we will be eating separately tonight …..it’s his all time favourite so might cheer him up a bit. It won’t be any hassle I’ll cook all the onions and separate mine before adding 40g low fat cheddar then add cheese and cornflour to his before putting it in some pastry. I’d even thought of doing the pon pasty using a ww wrap but have already had my heb. He will take some to work for his dinner tomorrow too 👍January spends - £587.582

Hello @Suffolksue, you're doing well to lose weight. When the late, great MrC died I survived on chippy chips and cider for a year and put on three stone. I did feed my small son properly in case anyone is wondering (it was 12 years ago and he's 16 now) but I couldn't seem to extend the same duty of care to myself.
Well done on stopping at just a sandwich @milann. It's the chewing that's comforing rather than the eating apparently so I hold a pen long ways in my teeth now if I'm a bit stressed or upset (only if I'm alone obviously). Your place of work doesn't seem very friendly - I know you've been off but still.... Have a hug, it's them, not you.2 -
Welcome back @Suffolksue. I remember you from some time ago and please accept my condolences on the loss of your husband.
You've done ever so well to lose more than half a stone already. 👏👏👏 You've probably noticed a few changes with the plan, the best of which IMO is the option of an extra HEA. 😋
Funnily enough my consultant mentioned that SW is based on calories too. Perhaps it's something they've been told to do. 🤔
One of the good tips I remember was to put the protein and plenty of Speed on your plate first to leave little room for the carbs. What's strange though is that @bubbs has very few carbs anyway.
I'm all for 'each to his own'. I've tweaked the plan to suit my lifestyle but I find the very easy healthy eating formula works for me and keeps treats in the right proportion. I'm sure some of the obesity crisis is down to people eating every day the sort of thing we had for high days and holidays when I was a child like sweets and fizzy drinks.
It'll be strange to not have those girls to support after all this time @milann . Moving to secondary school is a huge milestone. It was kind of you to take in the cards. Don't worry, if you don't get a loss tomorrow because of your leg, it'll show up when you get better. 😊2 -
Thank you for the welcome,and thank you Mamam
yes the extra Hep A is v welcome
now I’m on my own I’ve realised just how little milk I drink ( 1 litre lasts 6-7 days ) ,I checked and can have 175 ml sk milk and 45 g of cheese .
im a cheese fiend so it’s good ,Got into habit of eating main meal at lunch time as it fitted in better with the carers visits ( neede carers for the last year ) and have kept that habit ,found I couldn’t be bothered cooking in the evening so just picked .
45 g of cheese and two chopped apples seems enough most evenings .
Think that’s the beauty of SW you can easily adapt it to you ,but I really do have to watch portion size
will see how it goes1 -

joedenise said:Glad your new group is nice OBL. Did you get the Happy Days book when you bought your Countdown? Apparently it has been extended for an extra week so you should have done. You should be able to make some leeway with your weight loss during your Countdown period. Hopefully it won't take you too long to get back to target.
Had a terrible night's sleep last night - only sleeping an hour at a time! By 5am I gave up and got up. Weather isn't too good this morning so glad I got the washing done yesterday - I decided to finish it all rather than leaving it after seeing today's forecast! Even washed 2 pairs of curtains which I needed to take down as we are having new windows fitted today. Will need to take the curtains down in our bedroom if they get round to those windows today. Not sure which windows they're planning on doing today - I'm hoping they can manage to get them all done today rather than having to make sure I'm up early again tomorrow!
Need to keep the syns low as definitely running out! Only 7.5 syns left to last until WI on Friday! So today's plan is syn free:
B - scrambled eggs and spinach on toast - HEB; P; S
L - roasted stuffed peppers - HEA2; S; F
D - vegetable biryani - S; F
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - mozarella
HEB - bread
Syns - none planned
Have a good day everyone.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1201 -
I was told when I first tried the current SW plan that the plan is actually based on calories but they have just done all the working out for the members. They do rely on you exercising some portion control though 😊
Today I have had
Breakfast= weetabix x2
Lunch = Quorn Ham Sandwich
Tea = Quorn Chicken Korma and rice
Snacks = Banana, a handful of raspberries ,a handful of strawberries and an orange
The curry I'm having is a jar of sauce so will been syns but I bought it before I decided to go back to SW and I'm not wasting it. Also because I cook just for myself most of the time I tend to cook once and then eat whatever I've cooked for four days if it makes four portions. I do sometimes freeze things to have later but find it easier to just it over four days, I will normally take some for my lunch at work too
