Think the cauliflowers taste much the same @bubbs.
Was going to order them as part of the fruit & vegetable order for foodbank but they were nearly double the price!

First time I've had purple cauliflower to be honest.  It tastes exactly the same as white cauliflower!  The colour comes out in the water just like when you cook red cabbage and the cauliflower was more blue than purple once cooked but we both enjoyed it even if it did look a bit weird on the plate!

Just wondering what it'll be like eating blue cauliflower cheese!!!

    We need pictures!
The huge purple cauliflower was £1.49; the white ones were about 1/3 of the size and were £1.20 so purple definitely better value as the white one would only have done one meal.  Think I'm probably going to get 2 sides, including tonights, as well a a cauliflower cheese.

Sorry no pictures - I don't take pictures of food!

    Interesting Denise on your price.
The prices I were quoted by the supplier were almost double.

I got mine from the farm shop not supermarket and they're usually a bit more expensive but couldn't believe the price was so good for the size.

Morning all, I now have a notion for cauliflower cheese!   Finishing up work today until the middle of next week so a super busy day ahead.

    Today's plan:
B - toast HEB, banana, coffee HEA1 milk throughout the day
L - chicken and rice soup
    D - spaghetti bolognaise, parmesan HEA2

Syns - will have some of DS's garlic bread with dinner, still to work out

I much prefer the weekly bank of syns, so much easier and will probably go back to doing that after weighing on Saturday.

    Have a good day everyone.

You must post the recipe for those waffles @bubbs and tell us how they taste.😋

Have a good break from work @Jellybaby. I don't know if you've got anything planned but if you're pottering at home you'll be in control of your meals which always helps.

I've noticed that Iceland seem to do good cauliflowers. They consistently have really large ones for £1.49 when other places seem to charge the same regardless of size and some weeks they're so tiny they're just not worth the money.

@bubbs is great at finding bargains and with prices steadily rising, any tips for doing SW and being money saving will help. 🤔

    Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit squash (F), fried eggs (P), HEB toast, HEA1 milk, tomatoes and mushrooms (S)
L- JP (F) with SW friendly filling 🤔
D- Austrian ham hash (P,S,F) with cauli, broccoli and cabbage and HEA2 cheese topping

Afternoon all, bit late today as had an appointment with an orthopaedic consultant about my shoulder this morning.  I've been on the waiting list for NHS for over 2 months now and found out on Monday that it's going to be at least another 14 weeks before I even get an appointment for orthopaedic triage and then go on yet another waiting list for goodness knows how long!  The consultant thinks he'll probably get away with just giving me injections but needs to see the report from my scan, which I've asked my GP for.  If I don't get it within the next 2 weeks then I'm going to have to pay for an MRI so he can make a decision.  Do hope I get a copy of the report to save having to have another scan!

    Today's plan:

    B - cheese omelette - P; HEA2
    L - jacket potato, cottage cheese, salad -  S; F
    D - sausage cassoulet; P; S; 2

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - none planned
Syns - low fat sausages 2

Hope everyone is having a good day.

That's awful @bubbs.  That's a hell of a long wait especially as she wants to go back to work because she obviously won't get paid and doubt benefits will cover much.
