  • morning everyone!

just seen on the SW app that they’ve just designated unfilled fresh pasta as a free food! we used to eat it loads as it cooked so much quicker so least we’ve got more quick tea options again.

Where did you see that @evilsquid1603?  Just been on the app and can't see anything about fresh pasta being Free.  I used to make my own pasta but stopped when I started SW because of the syns.

Tipping it down here. I've no plans to set foot outside the door.

I bought a red cabbage yesterday so I'll batch cook that while listening to the football.

    Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit squash, banana (F), HEB porridge, HEA milk, strawberries (S)
L- JP (F), cottage cheese (P), beetroot, spring onion (S)
D- Aldi Slimwell curry, HM pilau, SW chips (F), extra veg (S)
    Syns- curry 1, weekend wine😊

I didn't get quite as long as I hoped for the washing on the line!  Only about an hour before it started raining but at least it was a bit dryer than it was when I put it out as it had been quite windy!  DH shoved it in the tumble dryer rather than getting the airer out so now it's all dried, folded and put away so at least there's no wet washing hanging around the place!

    Morning all

    Bloody 1lb on 🤬🤬

Denise she put it on our page the other day, this is it
Have you heard…. ..... its BIG FREE FOOD NEWs
    BIG FREE FOOD NEWS…
I have a Free Food update to share… the expert teams at Slimming World have been reviewing the pasta market and because the energy density (calories per gram) of fresh unfilled pasta has moved much closer to dried pasta fresh pasta has been designated a Slimming World Free Food!
    Weightwise
This doesn’t extend to ravioli or tortellini which is often filled with high-fat cheese or meat (not the lean cuts that are Free).
Because recipes vary (which impacts the calories), to protect your weight loss, home-made pasta will remain 1½ Syns per 100g.
Even though they’re made with similar ingredients, fresh, chilled noodles are coated in oil to prevent them sticking together in their pouches, so they’ll also continue to have a Syn value.

  • @joedenise it was on the community bit, as it’s been all over social media people were commenting and tagging in the SW people so they’ve had to do a post confirming it’s true. We’ve had an email about it now as well.

Oh @bubbs. I feel your pain. I always know my gains are deserved yours aren't! Perhaps now there's two members in the same position she'll try harder to come up with something. 🤔

I always remember an Area Manager visiting my first group and telling us that the HEXs were just that EXTRA and we didn't have to have them but just to make sure, for health reasons, we had plenty of fibre and calcium. I'd try to have them if it was me just to eliminate the possible reason.

Sts  for me bit fed up .
yes she said in group that fresh pasta is now Free ,also said that they are wanting to revamp the wine syns UP !, but says she will be fighting that one 🤣🤣
  • @bubbs i was told the same as @maman by my first consultant and she used to say to people that just didn’t really like dairy or the things that were HEBs that as long as you were looking through the book and making sure you still were eating a variety of food and trying to have a few more marked F and C or making sure what you were choosing has some of those foods you would be absolutely fine without them all if you don’t want them.

I know from going veggie and looking at vegan cookbooks etc they always say that calcium is actually in loads of other unexpected foods and veg and not just dairy and fruit and veg is full of fibre anyway. that’s why people can get digestive issues switching to SW as their fibre can go through the roof if their body isn’t used to it.
