Four_Seasons - I'm sorry I don't know anything about postal surveys, but I just googled it and a website came up, it's seemed very comprehensive, so may be worth a look.

cbsexec - sorry I forgot who suggested postal surveys and had to go back. If you have any simple info on them it would be appreciated, I was beginning to wonder whether I was in the correct website. Thanks

Hello and apologies for just dropping in when I haven't posted before :)
The postal survey mentioned might be the one done for the Royal Mail. There's a very long thread here on MSE and I'm sure someone on it would answer questions if you have any.
Love reading your diary :) Goodnight, sleep well.

Sorry. Late reading     The postal survey is very easy to do if your post code area is required.   I find doing the “correctly delivered” and “unaddressed” even easier as it is just recording what mail you receive for two or three weeks.  For those you receive points which covert to vouchers for Amazon John Lewis etc.  They can mount up quickly.  More work are theones that require you to post things on certain days. For those you get stamps. First class booklets.  I’m sure you could find a use for them Nannygladys 😀

cbsexec - if I did get into the postal surveys. I think the stamps would be very useful as I do write letters to some far flung friends, old school and we all enjoy receiving something in the post :)

  • Hi, thank you cbsexec I have applied for the postal survey for when they are recruiting.  I always follow your diary NannyG love to read your goings on - must admit I seem to have lost my get up and go - just waiting for some nice weather to get in the garden x
  • @SuperMoose all I can think of is those amazing choc n nut super mouses from the 80’s….the best thing that came from my mums new fridge freezer (before that it was an ice box in the fridge and no room for such delicacies) 😋

Well it was a bit windy last night but no damage done thank goodness.

Anyway I thought I would be prepared for the next storm so I called in the hub this morning and got a couple of bits and then up to the community pantry. I am a little disappointed but won't hold it against them as it was very busy.
What happens there is: you choose the level you want, pick the correct amount of items off the list, pay your money and sit down and wait for it to be bought to you, then you pack it in your bags and leave - simple, except they are closed next week (half term) so were very busy and they rushed you to empty the basket as they needed them for the next clients. Anyway, I called via a sm for some milk on the way home so didn't unpack for a time, and then when I did I was missing two items!! Rice and chicken, both for the pup! It'll be too late to say anything and the amount I received was way more than I'd paid so I won't say anything, but a bit disappointing though.

So I had a small spend in the sm for milk and an onion and Ihad a look round at the clothes whilst there but didn't see anything I needed, but they had some lovely housey things that I wanted but refrained from buying, I would have bought it all without a second thought once upon a time :)

I was surprised how warm it was whilst I was out cos it seems a lot colder in the house! I suppose the insulation works both ways doesn't it.

I managed to change my library books this morning as well but forgot to go to the post office to post my letter so that's a job for tomorrow, I picked up a cook book from the library to have a look though for some inspiration as I want to have a cooking day on Saturday. I want to make some granola and a lemon cake, so thought I would fill the oven whilst it was on and I want to try something a bit different as I'm getting fed up of constantly having the same things.
