Toonie - it's the one Item I'll never 'downsize' on, I even take my own coffee to dd3s as I don't like hers!!! But eldest has a husband who loves proper coffee, he even grinds his own beans!!!! And his coffee machine is to die for so I always make sure I stay long enough at their house to have one (or two)

Today I have been out and about for a change, I met up with some people first thing this morning and had a good matter and catchup, didn't spend anything, then went to the local food hub for some veggies, that was a success as I managed to get eggs, grapes, yogurt and some finger rolls, as well as some veg, so really pleased. I never get a lot as I like to leave loads for other people£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund0

Oh no pressed the wrong button - what a numpty
this afternoon I made some soup for the next few days and some veggie cake things for tea, it's a cobbled together thing so I'll have to see how they cook and taste. Thinking I may make some more sushi tomorrow as I have another avocado, I haven't a clue if I'm doing it right but it definitely tastes good!!
A load of washing was completed whilst I was out and mostly dried outside but is now littering up my radiators to finish it off when the heating comes on, and that's about it. So a successful day all told, no money spent, company of friends and free food!!
Right off to cook these 'veggie' cakes

I’m with you on the good coffee, life’s too short to drink bad coffee. I only have two cups a day so they need to be good ones. Also agree on leaving things for others, when there are vastly reduced items in shops I take a couple but always leave some for others.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Sun_Addict - I definitely have too much coffee everyday, I could do with dropping a few mugs a day!
The hub was open today so as I have dgd tonight I thought I would see if they had some bread, well I got their a few minutes after opening and there was hardly anything there, one of the men there said there was queue outside so opened a bit early and they just stripped it out!!!! I did get my bread though!!! I don't mind as long as they eat it, but some people can be a bit greedy when there's free food on offer.
So today it's been snowing, this is when I'm glad I'm not looking after pup!! But dgd and I had a quick walk in it just to get us out of the house. Pup is fine and I get updates everyday and when I saw him Tuesday I'm sure he'd grown
Lunch - leek and potato soup
Tea - leek and courgette risotto
Crikes I've had a lot of leeks today
Tomorrow is going to be a bitty day but I hope to get quite a bit done

Well I quite enjoyed my 'bitty' day!!
I dropped dgd at the charity shop for her mornings volunteering, then went to the cs depot to drop some stuff off, I didn't stay for a look around as I usually end up buying something, so thought better of it!
I then went to the library and chose a couple more books and went up to the reference floor and got really interested in a book about being frugal, I started going through it looking for a few ideas and realised the ladies/gents on here know more about being frugal than the fancy expensive ideas in the book, but I did spend half an hour in a nice quiet and warm place!!! Didn't get the book out thoughPerhaps I should have done then I could have shared some tips
And then I went back home not having spent anything, I just keep thinking the faster I can save the money for the canopy the sooner I can move onto the next thing, so I'm quite motivated at the moment, so I hope I can keep it going!!!
Later this afternoon, dd1 came with littlies an went and did a quick errand whilst I looked after them then took them all back home for their teas. And here I am having had more LO for tea and ensconced in front of the tv waiting for 'death in paradise' at 9pm.

What a lovely day. The frugal tips might have been entertaining 😁Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

I love it when I see "frugal ideas" which cost a fortune. It's like saying everything handmade is cheaper...it may be once you have all the odds and sods you need, but starting up can be expensive.
