WinterWarrior - just had a look at the recipe and sounds just right, but I will have to use something else than the ras el hanout, I don't know what it is but will look into it. Thanks for that
Sun_addict - thats tomorrow sorted as I have sweet pots in and I had a jar of chickpeas from the pantry on Thursday. Thanks.
Quiet day today, just been shredding paperwork and I've nearly finished it now. Had shower etc and it was tea time, it went so quickly!! More roasted veggies, this time I had them with chilli noodles and it was lovely, and that's most of them used now, just the kale, spinach and cabbage to go. I think cabbage pie will be one meal, curry will be one and some of the kale will become crisps. I will keep you posted. That's the only problem when you don't know what food you're going to get, but at least I'm trying new things and that can't be a bad thing, can it?
Anyway better have a look at making a lettuce sandwich for supper!!

I thought the same nanny! I presume it’s a spice of some sort.

It is a mix of spices - you can buy it ready mixed or you can make your own from spices you'll probably already have if you like spicy food! Here's a link to one recipe but I'm sure there are others:

joedenise - I've had a look at the recipe for it and the only thing I haven't got are cloves, so I think I will just miss that out!!!
Sun_Addict I made a curry this afternoon, using the sweet pots, chickpeas and spinach, I must confess I did use a jar as I have a few in the cupboard and its lovely, there's enough for tomorrow and some to put in the freezer when I take all the gf food out in the morning.
WinterWarrior - it has to be with salad cream not mayo for me, memories from childhood.
Been so quiet today, kept thinking it's a Sunday. Tried to do a bit of knitting, but only kept it up for 15 minutes but wrist/thumb really started hurting so I stopped and will try another session tomorrow night. I'm doing dgs duties tomorrow and his ear ache and cold have gone, so if he is OK we will be able to go out.
That's it really, just a pottering around day, take care everyone

Sun_Addict - As I'm out all day tomorrow I think it will be curry on a jacket when I get back in, I always try to do a meal that will last two days so I don't have to cook when I get in, but I did just grew as I kept adding bits!!£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund1

Earlier one for me.
Had a small job out that I did first thing, then I went to get a new smoke alarm as mine has given up the ghost and a new white board for my menu planner, but NO chocolate (and I was really tempted!!) I then nipped into the food hub but only picked up some blueberries and a vegan pasty!!! I don't need any veg or bread at the moment, but will go tomorrow for another look.
Had lunch, spinach omelette and 1/2 the pasty, and it was very nice but I wouldn't buy something like that - not at the real price anyway, don't mind it for free
So later on I have to go out again and then it's mindless tv, I could do with it at the moment. Wrists are still hurting today so won't be doing any knitting for a couple of days, that's it for me at the moment, just sitting down for a bit longer and then I will stir myself.

Today's spends : fuel £40.01
Misc smoke alarm, whiteboard and pens £6.87
The fuel comes out of its own budget which is £40, so a penny overand the other bits are coming out of grocery fund as that's all the money I had left after over when everything had been allocated. I have a tight budget, and it doesn't leave a great deal, but I keep thinking of that canopy
and the more I can save the sooner it gets done.

I think you do admirably well with limited funds. Very inspirational.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

Sun_Addict - ah, thank you very much, I'm just very focused at the moment. I began having 'pots' for things like annual bills, grandchildren, travel, ef etc a few years ago, so I don't have to worry about the water bill, dentist, opticians, car stuff etc as I know they are all paid for by the amount I put in each month, I must admit it was the best thing I ever did, but it did take a while to get to this point.
I also work on the 'zero' budget approach, so I live on what's left after everything is budgeted for and draw it out in cash, so when it's gone, it's gone!!! I don't get to the last week anymore not having anything to live on and that's happened more than a few times
