I take advantage of people getting rid of things to go "eco friendly" and take plastic tubs off their hands. I've always been of the opinion it's better to use things as much as possible then buy something new. I have a running list of kitchen things I need and try to source them from charity shops but it's been getting more difficult to do so, so may need to pay a visit to the giant blue meatball shop next month (we have one five minutes drive away so it's not too bad-until I see their plants and want to bring them all home!)

Sun_Addict - I used to follow Thrifty Lesley once upon a time, I will have to go and have look, meal planning can get really boring when all you want is crisps and cake!!! I have been through the fridge and think it may be a stir fry of sorts, followed by fruit and yogurt, really boring but healthy :)

Been busy so far, still sorting out my 'craft' room and I've sorted out lots of old magazines, bits of non useable material, they're not even big enough to sew together and reuse, I just liked having them in the pot so I've had a last look and they have gone. I also found quite a few CD roms and as I hadn't a lap top anymore and don't even think I would ever use them (paper crafting) I have taken them out of the cases and will use the cds down the lottie to scare the pigeons, as they always eat my peas!!!

I also paper shredded loads of paper work as its our recycling day Monday, so all in all I feel as if I'm achieving something. I'm not really decluttering as I did that a couple of years ago so there isn't much stuff left, just my craft room!

Off to make a cup of coffee and watch a bit of tv before I do a bit more shredding!!

@nannygladys could you roast some of the veg you have?  I love that with some couscous, pasta, rice or as a side with some roast meat, sausages etc.  In fact I could just eat a dishful of them!

joedenise - what a brilliant idea I forgotten about roasting them, I have sweet pots, tom's, courgettes, aubergine, onions and peppers so I could do enough for a few meals!

Well I'm still sat watching mindless tv and can't be bothered to move!!

  • Roasted veg might be nice in wraps with a sprinkle of cheese for something different ?

Add a tin of tomatoes, some veg stock and herbs and you could whizz up for a soup too.

Sun_Addict - I took your advice and roasted a selection up in the halogen, then cooked some pasta and put them together with some cream cheese, very tasty!! Thank you :)

WinterWarrior - I had some wraps from the hub the other day, so that's tomorrow taken care of, thanks  :)

You lot come up with some cracking ideas, thanks!!! Now what can I do with a large bag of kale??? I usually have it as a normal boiled veggie but looking for other ideas, someone (namely dd) suggested kale crisps but she/I haven't a clue how to make them.

I will be making that soup you suggest Sun_Addict if I have enough left, I'm hoping by Monday they will all be gone. Not the kale, cabbage, more courgettes, carrots, sweet pots and other bits and Bob's though!!! I should be healthy after all that veg but I'm just grateful for the hub giving it all to me!!!

No Montelbano tonight, boo hoo so I will get my book down I think or just go down the utube rabbit hole.

Sorry joedenise it was your idea of the roasted veggies, and I'll definitely be doing it again. Thanks.

I use kale like spinach. You could make a sweet potato and kale curry and add chickpeas if you have some. I put it in my home made soup too.
