NannyG the 5:2 is similar to the 16/8 in that it's to change your metabolism so it works better.
They've been well researched by Dr. Michael Mosely, so they're not 'fad' diets, and there's been a number of TV documentaries done by him.
With the 5:2 you eat 'normally' for 5 days (SW recipes are great for this) and on the other 2 days (don't have to be consecutive) you eat 500 -800 calories.
Wishing you Health and Happiness for 2022, whichever weight loss plan you use.I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.
happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy1 -
Crystal - I'm veering towards the 16/8 I think as I can get into some sort of rhythm, I will have a look at 16/8 verses 5:2! Thanks for explaining it, the only thing I can see that puts me off the 5:2 are the very low cal days - not sure I could manage them
Today has been anther quiet one, did one more load of laundry, the coat I have been wearing for doggie walks that got very muddy, it's still wet but I have it hanging up in the bathroom. The weather was so nice, cold but sunny and windy ideal washing day if it had been bit warmer!!
Sorted some more of my craft room out and feel a bit sad getting rid of some of the bits, but I'll never use them so I'm hoping someone else will get some enjoyment out of them.
I also put the Xmas boxes away and everywhere looks a bit empty. I've had my candles lit tonight to make it look a but more cosy.
I had a veggie risotto for lunch and still wasn't hungry at tea so just had a fruit salad and yogurt. I did finish some biscuits off with a cup of coffee though but besides some twiglets that haven't been opened (the sil will have those off me) all the Xmas food and goodies have gone - yay
That's me for tonight, nite nite

Hi WinterWarrior, still at dds house doing grandma duties and I'm pooped!!!! I'll be glad to get back home, little one refuses to have a sleep so he's very grumpy and dgd usually very helpful is less so today, I think she can't wait to get back to school tomorrow!
Anyway, we did a walk into town (hoping dgs would fall asleep) and didn't spend a penny but did get wet in the rain and hail, so a hot cup of tea and mince pie were on the cards when we got back!! Just sitting and having them now
I'll be back in later when I'm home and had tea

Oh it’s hard when they are tired. MrWW has been having a few tantrums today 😕, it must be a day for it.

Hi nannygladys - I've spent the afternoon reading through your diary and have enjoyed it immensely. I'm one of the luckier retirees who have a couple of private pensions, and I can only admire how you manage on just the State pension. You always seem so cheery and positive as well.I've subscribed and look forward to reading more of your lovely posts!😀Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

WinterWarrior - I must admit I found it difficult today but got home ok and made hm sushi, my 2nd attempt and it was a lot neater!!! It's so filling as well, love it. Sorry MrWW was grumpy it must have been 'male' grumpy unite day!
Seasidegal58 - I manage I think as I never had well paid jobs, had a mortgage (which was my priority) and bought up 3 daughters as a single parent. I'm in a lot better position than a lot of others as I own my house, have no debt and come on here!I don't mind being frugal, I don't go without I'm just careful and it enables me to keep my car and occasionally go out!
Today, grandma duties completed in the end and I am so tired, so I've put my electric blanket on, made a hot drink and I'm going to bed for a read, I will switch the blanket off before I get into bed as I don't want it on longer than needed.
Out and about tomorrow, so I want to get up early and be organised again it saves me a lot of time and enables me to enjoy my coffee!!!!! Coffee is the one item I will not compromise on
Right off up to Bedfordshire as my gran used to say.
